The capability of swapping and editing your model on the fly is almost essential. Along with how building tools and importanting them is the easiest it has ever been can only benefit users. We have local reps that answer our questions so the customer support is on par with the rest of the softwares. **What do you dislike about SolidCAM?** There are times where the software can have some glitches and crash. One thing I want to say to it is crashing files while you are working on large files. The best i like is working in "part", and direct editing whatever i want to make a good route for program. Sometimes i copy the original part in CAD, the make some changes, and the work on the changed version. Also i use this for fixtures and etc. SolidCAM gives me everything i need to be a good CNC programmer. **What do you dislike about SolidCAM?** I dislike autosave wich is not possible to turn off. After 2017 SolidCAM version, there is a problem wich 2D and 3D iMachining, Side step menu isn't working. I saw this in 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021 versions. Because SolidCAM is a SolidWORKS add-in, the geometry creation and editing are easier than porting from the CAD software to the CAM software. Or having to suffer through the CAD tools that most CAM software include. The online videos and community support is great too. **What do you dislike about SolidCAM?** It's probably not applicable to most users but, we have high speed spindles and machines. The iMachining doesn't allow me to set a minimum or floor speed / RPM. So I spend time editing the feeds and speeds. Templates help this, but it would be nice to have access to the algorithm itself. When updating from version to version, it's easy to lose files because they get segregated into different folders. I found it best to clean out the old file locations and move the files to the new installation folders. **What problems is SolidCAM solving and how is that benefiting you?** The iMachining trochoidal milling strategies have significantly decreased cycle times and increased tool life. The 3D tool paths have increased our manufacturing capabilities. ### 17. This product is very user friendly. Help menus and graphical images are very useful. Volumill is dialed in and works great. Five axis positional programming is very straight forward. All around good choice for those that use SolidWorks. **What do you dislike about SolidCAM?** Biggest complaint is that I have to empty the temp folder daily. If not, software will crash. Auto feature recognition is useless in my opinion. We have struggled with the original post processors provided by the reseller really bad! They have made them good, but we have had to work closely with them for months to develop good proven posts. Our equipment is Haas, very common equipment. **What problems is SolidCAM solving and how is that benefiting you?** Volumill has improved output and tool life. To automate the development of control systems for CNC machines and ensure their continuous operation, in our opinion, the SolidWorks and SolidCAM combination is ideal. **What do you dislike about SolidCAM?** It is necessary to open a center for support soft and training programs. Currently there is no official dealer in Uzbekistan. Who would work on distributing Solidworks Solidcam software products. Many industrial companies use a hacked version of Solidworks Solidcam software and do not have experienced specialists. We can offer a project to distribute software products and organize training. As a result, the demand for these software products and training will increase. **Recommendations to others considering SolidCAM:** Since the SolidCAM system is fully embedded in SolidWorks, the whole process of CAM programming actually implemented in SolidWorks since I and my collegue installed the trial version of the system SolidCAM embedded in SolidWorks. And today it is safe to say that their choice was the right one. The functionality of the program with each version are expanding. Weak postprocessor editing options. You have to be expert to change something in postprocessor. In NX or Hypermill i can just edit postprocessor inside with ease via CAM module.
