## SiteGround Reviews
  ### 1. Reliable, High-Performance Hosting with Easy Multi-Site Management

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2026

**What do you like best about SiteGround?**

SiteGround provides a one-stop interface for managing multiple domains and websites easily at the admin level, with easy-to-use tools. Performance is great and there are a great many integrations available. At some point, I plan to use their AI tools to set up a blog of some sort. They're a little pricier than most, but you get reliability in return and decent support.

**What do you dislike about SiteGround?**

It's difficult to find where to get help when it's clear that their AI chatbot tool has no answers. I had to click through a bunch of choices finally to find the function that let me speak directly to a human support person. They really should put How To Contact Support as a prominent option.

**What problems is SiteGround solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was having difficulty accessing my Site Tools for my domains. The support person was able to access them fine, so we narrowed it down to a DNS resolution error on the part of my ISP (Starlink) failing to resolve certain addresses.

  ### 2. Seamless, Secure WordPress Hosting Made Easy

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tonja H. | Owner and Technology Administrator, Health, Wellness and Fitness, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 25, 2026

**What do you like best about SiteGround?**

SiteGround makes it easy to build and host WordPress websites, and the overall experience feels seamless. My sites also feel secure when they’re running on it.

**What do you dislike about SiteGround?**

The prices have increased regularly over time. Tools that were once included with hosting are now locked behind pricing tiers, and sometimes getting help from live support—rather than the chatbot—can be difficult.

**What problems is SiteGround solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can manage multiple websites from the SiteGround dashboard and also host sites for clients. The plugins and integrations work seamlessly, and updates and ongoing refinements to a website are just as smooth.

  ### 3. Reliable Hosting, But the UI Needs a Refresh

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2026

**What do you like best about SiteGround?**

SiteGround is dependable when it comes to uptime and overall hosting performance. Websites load consistently well, especially WordPress sites. The built-in caching and security features reduce the need for too many external plugins.

Support is responsive and generally helpful. For most common hosting issues, their live chat resolves things quickly.

**What do you dislike about SiteGround?**

The UI feels outdated and not very intuitive. Navigating through settings, domains, email, and hosting tools can sometimes feel confusing, especially for non-technical users. Not so easy to use.

The structure of the dashboard isn’t always straightforward, and it takes time to figure out where certain settings are located.

Pricing at renewal is also on the higher side compared to some competitors.

**What problems is SiteGround solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It provides stable hosting without having to manage servers manually. Automated backups, SSL management, and security monitoring help reduce operational stress. For WordPress projects, it handles performance basics well, which allows us to focus more on development and content rather than infrastructure.

  ### 4. Effortless Hosting with Stellar Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Constanze (Conny) H. | Creative director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 12, 2026

**What do you like best about SiteGround?**

I really like the ease of use with SiteGround. I don't have to spend a lot of time figuring out how to add a new site or add email accounts. The easy access to the file manager is a big plus for me. I also appreciate their great customer support, as they help me resolve issues in a very short time. Setting up SiteGround was very easy thanks to their great migration tool for all my sites.

**What do you dislike about SiteGround?**

I frequently run out of space and upgrading is often expensive, so I have to sort through my files often

**What problems is SiteGround solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I host multiple sites on SiteGround because it's easy to use, with simple setup for new sites and email accounts. I have quick access to the file manager, and customer support resolves issues fast, saving me time.

  ### 5. SiteGround my environment for tests

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paul B. | Customer Experience Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 04, 2025

**What do you like best about SiteGround?**

I have been using SiteGround for a few years now, primarily to test websites and experiment before launching them. The dashboard is straightforward and user-friendly, while the staging tools make it easy to duplicate a site and try out updates or new features. Whenever I encounter issues, support responds quickly, and the built-in WordPress tools are sufficient for basic site setups.

**What do you dislike about SiteGround?**

I find the automatic WordPress updates quite frustrating, especially since there’s no way to disable them. This can be a problem when a project requires a particular version. The performance is decent, but to be honest, it hasn’t met my expectations for speed. I only use it for testing purposes and not for live client sites.

**What problems is SiteGround solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SiteGround serves as a reliable environment for experimenting with WordPress. The staging feature has come to my rescue multiple times, making it easy to test plugins and themes before applying any updates. While it isn't my preferred option for hosting live sites, it functions well as a dependable space for testing and development.

  ### 6. Everything Just Works—Great Docs, Helpful AI, and Awesome Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rob R. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2026

**What do you like best about SiteGround?**

Everything just works.... always... every time. The documentation is great - but because everything just works, I seldom need the docs. The new AI is very helpful, and the actual humans behind the help desk chats are consistently awesome.

**What do you dislike about SiteGround?**

Nothing. ... well maybe that not every country can use them.

**What problems is SiteGround solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have no problems.

  ### 7. Easy Domain Setup and Smooth WordPress Connection

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Elizabeth A. | Dietitian, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 21, 2026

**What do you like best about SiteGround?**

Very easy to use to set up domain and use for Wordpress connection. Also, customer support is very efficient and helpful.

**What do you dislike about SiteGround?**

I am not super tech savvy but find that SiteGround is very simple to use. I am sure if I had more tech experience I would find more benefits out of the site.

**What problems is SiteGround solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SiteGround hosts my website through WordPress. I’ve never had any issues with my site, and it consistently works well and meets my needs.

  ### 8. Reliable Service with Stellar Features, Needs Wider Reach

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vikas V. | Software Consultant, Computer & Network Security, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 02, 2025

**What do you like best about SiteGround?**

I appreciate SiteGround for its efficient CDN services, which facilitate better content delivery. The SSL certificate generation is seamless, enhancing security effortlessly. I value their user management system as it allows easy delegation of capabilities. The platform's migration support and intuitive setup process simplify managing hosting tasks. SiteGround offers outstanding service, particularly in chat and migration support, coupled with a user-friendly control panel that evolves and improves over time. Their backup management offers reliable protection, quickly restoring systems if issues arise. Lastly, I love the ease of hosting multiple websites, especially with their managed WordPress hosting, providing great value for the cost.

**What do you dislike about SiteGround?**

I think the services until this point are available only across Europe and the United States, but they don't have any services in Asia, I suppose, or they are quite limited. The last time I checked.

**What problems is SiteGround solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use SiteGround for easy web hosting with targeted WordPress managed hosting. It offers cost-effective managed hosting on virtual private servers with excellent CDN, security features, and a good backup system, enhancing my website management experience.

  ### 9. Intuitive, but too expensive and not modern enough

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Guillaume S. | Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about SiteGround?**

The interface is intuitive and simple, it is a good solution for someone who does not have much technical knowledge.

**What do you dislike about SiteGround?**

The fees are still expensive and they do not use recent technologies.

**What problems is SiteGround solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows hosting websites.

  ### 10. Very expensive, nothing special

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Henry C. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 09, 2025

**What do you like best about SiteGround?**

The admin dashboard and C-Panel are user friendly. Whipping up staging sites is pretty easy. I have had quick responses from support (regardless of the quality/effectiveness of support...)

**What do you dislike about SiteGround?**

I read a lot about SiteGround being faster than other options. That has not been my experience, I don't notice much difference. You can build a website to perform well on most hosting plans - SiteGround hosting will NOT make a poorly-built website run faster. You are not simply "buying speed," contrary to what a lot of forums seem to say.

One of my websites is a post-heavy, content & media publishing WordPress site with a bunch of plugins. It ran the same on other hosting providers, no testable difference. The only changes in performance have come from my technical changes.

Caution: your first year will be really "cheap". Your costs will skyrocket after that. This isn't like cable companies, where every year you call and get put on some discount plan. After year 1 the honeymoon is over, and you're paying double for what you're getting.

Shop around, don't settle on a recognizable name and a tempting "first year offer". You want a long term partner you don't have to worry about, not a used car salesman roping you into an expensive contract with "DEALS! DEALS! DEALS!"

**What problems is SiteGround solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It provides features, I wouldn't say it solves any of my "problems". Not more so than any other provider.

  ### 11. Easy, Simple Setup for Basic Hosting

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Apparel & Fashion | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

Not so great for advanced users looking for complex features.

  ### 12. Easy to Use, Customizable WordPress-Friendly Experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 15, 2026

Easy to use but also allows customization if you are familiar with WordPress

**What do you dislike about SiteGround?**

I can't think of any downsides. Maybe the cost?

**What problems is SiteGround solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SEO optimization. Fast implementation

  ### 13. Great Hosting for WordPress Websites with Speed and other Services

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

  ### 14. Strong performance, but serious server-level security concern

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jillyn D. | Founder + Executive Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 05, 2025

**What do you like best about SiteGround?**

SiteGround’s hosting is generally fast, reliable, and user-friendly. Their interface is polished, support response times are good, and we’ve had very few problems over the years. For most typical use cases, it’s a solid choice for WordPress hosting.

**What do you dislike about SiteGround?**

Our Business Cloud server had PostgreSQL (port 5432) publicly exposed, even though we don’t use PostgreSQL at all. This was flagged in an external audit. SiteGround confirmed they won’t close unused ports unless you pay for a Dedicated IP per hosted site, which is not standard or scalable. Support was polite but ultimately unhelpful, and the session was ended without addressing my final escalation request.

This isn’t just a support issue — it’s a policy problem. Insecure defaults tied to upsells aren’t acceptable on managed cloud infrastructure.

**What problems is SiteGround solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SiteGround provides a managed WordPress hosting environment that simplifies site management, backups, caching, and security hardening at the application level. This allows our team to focus on development and marketing rather than infrastructure maintenance. Their platform handles most of the performance optimization out of the box, which reduces our time spent on speed tuning and plugin conflicts for small to mid-sized client sites.

  ### 17. Appalling service

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Translation and Localization | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 24, 2025

**What do you like best about SiteGround?**

None. No redeeming features. Poor email hosting, no customer service.

  ### 18. As always - the best tech support.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris C. | Owner/Partner/Developer/Janitor...., Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 19, 2024

**What do you like best about SiteGround?**

SiteGround simply performs. On the back-end, tools just work, everything just makes sense; on the front end, I never run into the resource or performance issues that I find on other hosts. And tech support? I *never* can't connect with a tech rep that doesn't know exactly what to do to help with the occasional things I run into. SiteGround offers the features and benefits of high-end,high-dollar hosting, in an approachable, affordable package. I steer *all* my clients to SiteGround.

**What do you dislike about SiteGround?**

Least helpful about SiteGround?... Well, sometimes I have to wait a few moments before I'm connected with support chat instead of instant connection. :} Really? What is there to dislike?

**What problems is SiteGround solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've been a customer a long time, so the evolutions and growth over the years ... adding LetsEncrypt, Staging, Application Management, Migration .... those are probably the most-appreciated features, saving me development and deployment time. Not to mention your best-in-class support ... I *love* it when a tech gets what I'm describing, trusts that I've done *my* due diligence, and helps me get to a solution efficiently. Support *alone* keeps me bringing my client to SiteGround.

Performance issues: it has a wide list of tools to help us inspect our performance and improve it, such as speed optimizer.
Security issues: the same goes for the security issues as SiteGround has so many services and tools to assure that we keep our products really secured and well managed.
Ease of website migrations and domains transfers, in addition to managing and deploying staging websites.
I love about them that you have everything in one place!

  ### 21. Excellent Joomla Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John v. | Hospital After Hours Coordinator (St Georges), Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 05, 2024

**What do you like best about SiteGround?**

I had a major issue after updating my Joomla website, resulting in loss of administrator access and front end also offline.
Even backups wouldn't restore the website. Thanks to the help of Dimitar B, the site was fully restored within 30 minutes of my ticket being raised.
Very grateful for the help received.

**What do you dislike about SiteGround?**

The included site backup did not work on this occasion (it's normally 100% reliable in restoring all files and databases). But thanks to the quick support from the team, the site was back up and running very quickly.

**What problems is SiteGround solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Fast hosting platform, with excellent technical support.

**What do you dislike about SiteGround?**

At first it was the Live chat feature, however after using this on a few occasions, the reasponse time is almost instant, the representative is knoweledgeable and helpful. Really have nothing negative to say with regards to Site ground.

**What problems is SiteGround solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**Reviewed Date:** June 28, 2024

**What do you like best about SiteGround?**

I needed help navigating from Dynadot to SiteGround for WordPress hosting. I was lost with many steps involved. People are what matters, and they both - Nicol and Dimitor made a BIG difference in my life and to my success - today! Thank you very much!

**What do you dislike about SiteGround?**

I am new to this site, so I can't tell if there will be anything that I might dislike.

**What problems is SiteGround solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Going through the tremendous help I received today from Nicol and Dimitor brings up the point that I feel secure knowing I have such great customer support available when needed. Also, they provide WordPress hosting.

  ### 25. Avoid SiteGround at all costs - lies, misinformation and bad service

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dion W. | Chief Technology Officer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 19, 2024

**What do you like best about SiteGround?**

Their basic services were good initially - reasonably easy to set up and the site was . However, over time after multiple site outages that were for nonsense reasons, my initial happiness with their service disapated. Excuses, misinformation, and lies from management take their toll.

**What do you dislike about SiteGround?**

I've been with SiteGround for four years, and I can't express enough how disappointed I am with their service. Here are the main issues I've encountered:

Unjustified Traffic Blocks: SiteGround blocks legitimate traffic at the slightest temporary increase, claiming a suspected attack. They don't verify if the site is under attack; they just block it by default. For example, when we announced webinars and had a modest increase in traffic (around 300 people signing up), they decided we were under attack, and we lost the ability for people to register. Despite their SLAs, I was never offered appropriate compensation.

Cryptic Messaging: Their messages are cryptic and often induce panic. They regularly send alerts that you're over the limit on something, listing a domain with little to no traffic. They arbitrarily pick one of your domains to raise an alert on, wasting time as you try to figure out what's happening.

Dismissive Management: When issues are escalated, their management team is dismissive, using phrases like "we will review", "we will try to improve", and "we will analyze," but they never commit to taking action. Even when pressed, the best commitment you get is vague promises about the "possibility of a change."

Dishonesty: I've caught their management outright lying in their replies. They provide BS excuses for blocking legitimate traffic, and when the actual traffic is analyzed, they fabricate reasons to justify their actions.

After enduring these issues for four years, I've finally had enough and moved my sites to another provider. I cannot stress enough how much SiteGround should be avoided.

**What problems is SiteGround solving and how is that benefiting you?**

After four years with SiteGround, I've had enough of their appalling service and dismissive management. They block legitimate traffic at the slightest increase, claiming suspected attacks without verification. For instance, our site was blocked during a webinar sign-up surge, causing us to lose registrations. Despite their SLAs, no compensation was offered.

Their management is equally disappointing. They send cryptic, panic-inducing messages about exceeding limits on low-traffic domains and, when issues are escalated, they provide non-committal responses like "we will review" without any real action. Worse yet, I've caught them making up outright lies to explain away their terrible service. SiteGround's unreliable service and dishonest management make them a provider to avoid.

Their customer service people are always amazing.
There has not been 1 time where they haven't been able to assist me or my company; and I have requested help quite a few times
They, patiently, guide you, advice you and help you the best they can
You can totally feel they care about their customers

**What do you dislike about SiteGround?**

The renewal price for website hosting
It was very expensive to renew the 3rd year so I had no choice but to switch providers
However, I had recommended a colleague and still work along with them

**What problems is SiteGround solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They provide top-notch hosting services
Their dashboard is user-friendly. You don't need to be a developer to manage your site.
The hosting also includes SSL certificate which you don't have to, manually, renew every 3 or 6 months
They provide automatic daily backups and WAY FASTER than other providers. Their back-up and restore process won't take more than 3-5 minutes whereas other providers take over 45 minutes
Their Customer service dpt is the best i have ever experienced.

  ### 29. Exceptional Tech Support Team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gina E. M. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 21, 2024

**What do you like best about SiteGround?**

What I like best about SiteGround is that I have tools that allow me access easily and since my business is rapidly growing even the ease of integration makes life so much easier. Sometimes, though, things do happen and when they do I send SiteGround's Tech Support Team a message through the chat system. They are so good about not taking forever to answer any questions I have or even fixing the problem.

**What do you dislike about SiteGround?**

There's nothing that I dislike about SiteGround

**What problems is SiteGround solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My web design business is growing so fast that I forgot to check where I was at on storage for my hosting account, which is a good problem to have. Bozhana Tringova was able to help me with figuring out what was going on with my hosting account. I'm fixing to add more websites and now I know that I must check the storage for the hosting accounts.

  ### 30. Excellent 24/7 Service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Entertainment | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 01, 2024

**What do you like best about SiteGround?**

I appreciate that they have 24/7 support. Whenever I need assistance, I use the chat and get a response within seconds!

**What do you dislike about SiteGround?**

I have had no downsides to using them as my service provider.

**What problems is SiteGround solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I never have to worry about my site going down.

  ### 31. SiteGround is great if you're starting and don't have a lot of traffic.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shannon P. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 29, 2024

**What do you like best about SiteGround?**

It was a step in the right direction. I previously was hosted by WordPress and found that I did not have enough memory of php workers for my needs. I was with SiteGround for approximately two years while my business was small.

**What do you dislike about SiteGround?**

As my business grew and I had more traffic, I was met with paywalls to manage the increase. This was costly and incredibly frustrating. I also had some issues with their Apache servers and had a few instances where my website went down after an update.

**What problems is SiteGround solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SiteGround was a cheap WordPress solution that gave me more control over my files. I was previously hosted by WordPress and had limited options to troubleshoot any issues that arose. SiteGround has good customer service and was perfect for my needs as I started my business.

  ### 32. Excellent Hosting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tara C. | CEO & Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 27, 2024

**What do you like best about SiteGround?**

My site is blazing fast, and the customer service is excellent.

**What do you dislike about SiteGround?**

I haven't found anything. My sites are easy to manage here.

**What problems is SiteGround solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I came to SiteGround after changing hosting services a bunch over the last 15 years. I've been with GoDaddy, then MediaTemple (who got bought by GoDaddy), then I tried InMotion, and now I'm here. I really hope the experience continues as it started because it's been fantastic.

  ### 33. My site was stopped by other provider, in less than 3hrs SiteGround had migrated/deployed a new copy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Javier O. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2023

**What do you like best about SiteGround?**

I was using BanaHosting, but after months of being a good customer they simply halted my service after 8 days of late payment! I had just launched a marketing campaign and all the potential clients were met with a non working wordpress site (thanks to BanaHosting)... I found SiteGround, I found they had support and contacted support explaining my situation, and they explained they could help and treated me as if they were my life-long friends. I purchased the manual support, gave my credentials to BanaHosting and the support team from SiteGround had my site up and running in less that 3 hours... fully migrated, fully running, extremely professionaly and communicative. This is the best service I've ever had. They are not just providers, they are business partners!

**What do you dislike about SiteGround?**

I would have thought that the price is high at first, comparing to other hostings that charge half the price. But if you think about that its not only the hosting service, but access to their support, it is totally worth the price.

**What problems is SiteGround solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ease of use, it abstracts the wordpress server/cpanel/php away so I dont think about it.

Staging and version control, I can easily know what changed if I hire a freelance or something.

Support, I usually dont tinker with Wordpress installations or migrations so I forget how do it. Support is a click away at a fair price.

**Official Response from SiteGround Reviews:**

> Hello Javier! Thank you for your wonderful review and for trusting SiteGround with your hosting needs! We're delighted to have been able to quickly migrate your website and get you back online, especially during such a crucial time for your business.

We truly appreciate your kind words and it's great to hear that our hosting tools, features, and accessible support have made managing your WordPress site a breeze. It's our goal to be more than just a provider, but a reliable partner for your business. Your satisfaction is our top priority, and we're here to support your growth every step of the way.

**Reviewed by:** Mireille F. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 14, 2023

**What do you like best about SiteGround?**

When I have had questions regarding our website, I have always received excellent IT help. Either via web-chat or telephone, the specialists have always been able to very quickly resolve the issue, or walk me through exactly the steps that I needed to take in order to fix the problem. The help that I received has always been honest with me when I have asked questions about increasing services purchased through Siteground. In every instance, they could have upsold me products, but they did not. That is the epitome of honest, excellent service!

**What do you dislike about SiteGround?**

It is a bit cumbersome to find the help area, to allow contact with a Siteground IT specialist.

**What problems is SiteGround solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I don't really understand this question. Siteground enables us to have a website, increasing visibility, allowing us to disseminate information to our patients. We have a website to educate our patients, but also so that when the public type in the dentist's name or olur clinic name, the first hit is our clinic and not "Rate your MD.com"

**What do you like best about SiteGround?**

Well structured administration interface, easy to find exactly what I need, daily backups, possibility of partial restoration of anything! Best support!

**What do you dislike about SiteGround?**

Limit the number of inodes (i.e. the number of files. Some WP plugins contain tens of thousands of files.)

**What problems is SiteGround solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Siteground serves us as a reliable hosting for our customers' web projects.

  ### 36. Easy and helpful

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brenda P. | Executive Assistant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 07, 2023

**What do you like best about SiteGround?**

The support is great. I have used both the chat and phone support and got any issues resolved quickly.

**What do you dislike about SiteGround?**

I can't think of anything right now. I use Siteground for both bussiness accounts and a personal account and I have no issues.

**What problems is SiteGround solving and how is that benefiting you?**

While I have several accounts for the different businesses, it is easy to switch from one account to another. The platform remains the same unlike some services I use where depending on how I am logged in the set up can be different. I have gotten to know how to use Siteground's tools and their tech support is great. They are quick to respond and always helpful and have resolved the issues or given clear instructions on what I need to do to resolve or avoid the problem in the first place. I am not a web designer or techie by any means, I have learned on the job, and I appreciate that they don't talk to me like I should know everything already - they help me at my level to get back on track.

**Official Response from SiteGround Reviews:**

> We're delighted to hear about your positive experience, Brenda! Our team is here to make things easy and provide helpful support. We're dedicated to ensuring a seamless experience for you. Thanks for choosing SiteGround!

**What do you like best about SiteGround?**

Siteground sets you up with a dashboard view of everything you need. It is so easy to use. These guys have created an appraoch to web services that just makes sense. It is intuitive and simple.

**What do you dislike about SiteGround?**

So far, nothing. I have been with many hosts before and many of them overpromise and underdeliver. With SiteGround, it all works and they deliver on what you need!

**What problems is SiteGround solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My main reason for choosing SiteGround is wordpress hosting and site speed. It is the best. SiteGround is the Spotify of web hosting!

  ### 38. SiteGround is a MUST in hosting!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Richy O. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 01, 2023

**What do you like best about SiteGround?**

The speed, customer support, user friendliness! I use it for all of my websites and client websites and the features are smooth and everything is easy to setup and optimize. Definitely recommend it!

**What do you dislike about SiteGround?**

I do not like the SiteGround plugins like the optimizer plugin and security plugin, they have caused too much headaches from the optimizer plugin not allowing my website to load properly to their security plugin restrcting me from logging in directly to my WP ADMIN panel via siteground. But their customer support is 10/10 and they're the best support in the game!

**What problems is SiteGround solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hosting for wordpress websites!

**Official Response from SiteGround Reviews:**

> Hello Richy! Thanks a ton for your awesome feedback! We're delighted to be your go-to hosting choice for both your personal and client websites. It's fantastic to hear you appreciate our platform's speed, the customer support, and our user-friendly interface. We're sorry to hear about any challenges with our plugins though. We're glad to be your trusted hosting provider and we look forward to continuing to support you and your websites. Cheers to smooth hosting experiences!

  ### 39. Excellent hosting & support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jacqueline G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 24, 2023

**What do you like best about SiteGround?**

SiteGround offers excellent, fast hosting, but their best attribute is their support. They've now added an ai chatbot, but if it doesn't yield the necessary info, there is still the option to chat or call real support people. When I've needed to do this (usually about once a year), they have never failed to fix my problem.

**What do you dislike about SiteGround?**

It can be a little confusing to solve your own problems on their site, although the new ai chatbot helps.

**What problems is SiteGround solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Technical issues. Today, I tried to upgrade my Joomla site to Jooma 4, crashed it, and reinstalled from back-up, but it still wasn't working right. The person on chat fixed it for me in just a few minutes.

  ### 40. Really Stable Great Host

**What do you like best about SiteGround?**

They are super consistent an deliver exactly what they say they will.

**What do you dislike about SiteGround?**

Sometime our sites go down likely because we are using too much bandwidth. Not really their fault.

**What problems is SiteGround solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We need a cost effective partner to host our SMB clients sites an SiteGround is the perfect partner for that!

  ### 41. Best hosting for beginners

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nathan C. | Entrepreneur, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 05, 2023

**What do you like best about SiteGround?**

It's easy to set up, the customer service is good and it's super cheap when you sign up for the first year, making it a good choice for those who are creating the first websites

**What do you dislike about SiteGround?**

After some level of experience and website growth, it's not the best option, could be faster and cheaper, after the first year discount the price goes up almost 70% what is not good for who is still in a budget

**What problems is SiteGround solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's a really good option for those who are starting out and need to host a website in an easy and affordable way, the customer service helps a lot for those who don't have a lot of experience with hosting, and also the first-year discount is a good way to start a website in the budget.

  ### 42. very patient polite and skillful

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jaime P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 05, 2023

**What do you like best about SiteGround?**

Support service even though logisitics are not fully exposed when the challenged is solved Once the follow up challenge does arrive they are right on it.

It seems that after one challenge is taken care of, another one not mention in the present session is generated and not intergrated at the time or at least mentioned.
Until it arrives some time after the current session is over.
This is why its important when the chat ends to ask the question, "is there anything else which needs to be peformed."
Nonetheless support personnel is very knowledgable, experience and skillful at solving the issue at hand very accurately. As long as the customer is patient, willing to cooperate and listen to the technichian instructions, all will gain.
If it wasn't for the tech's knowledge it would be a nitemare for the customers to navigate the scenary or didactics required by your hosting company, not to mention, the elevate time of implementation.

**What do you dislike about SiteGround?**

It seems to be, that there are missing parts to the process which are not commucated or stated to the customer after that particular step of the process, has been estblished or intergrated.

For example after we finished tranfering the domain name over, it was not clearly stated at that session. That the next step would be to point the domain, sometime in the
future. I thought transfering and pointing the domain were all the same.

Another example: during migration of the website, none of the techs inform me that the business email account needed processing. Without knowing that, I allowed my business gmail account to became inactive and non functionalbe, losing contact and access to my clent's email communications.
Hopefully a better anitcipation of what is to be expected or done, after a step has been consumated and completed, will improve.
thank you

**What problems is SiteGround solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Everything that involves website hosting benefit is my site could opertate effectivly, hopefully

I hate to give anyone a perfect score- never have- but as I just came off an excellent support chat, there is nothing I dislike.

  ### 48. Good affordable hosting for small teams running Wordpress, but beware with email hosting now

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 11, 2023

**What do you like best about SiteGround?**

We moved to SiteGround approx 2017-2018 because they felt appropriate and affordable for our non-technical, small team that runs our WordPress websites in-house.

The manager panel is easy for us to use.

I like the easy staging ability, so we can test optimization code and theme changes for the entire site privately before launching live.

Support is important to us. Their live customer support was easily accessible, always answers fast, and always solves our problems. (This has changed in recent years - you do now need to go through layers of pages to find the live chat.) I appreciate how their support staff speaks to us in non-technical terms, and patiently walks us through steps when we have issues.

Very importantly, they solve problems without heavy upselling. Our previous hosting service would throw confusing technical terms at us and tell us with every problem, that the only solution was to upgrade. Once we saw the pattern, we did not trust them and thus left for SiteGround, which does not do that. Now there is one current issue where I would gladly pay SiteGround for an upgrade, but we'll talk about that in dislikes.

The common thread running through all of this is, we're not website developers, we're DIY WYSIWYG website creators for our own business. We're busy creating our products, marketing and serving our customers. We don't want to hire all this out to external agencies and consultants, and increase our costs. We can't spend a lot of time problem-solving technical website stuff and learning all the things the tech world throws at us now.

I'm glad SiteGround has been an excellent buffer from that, so we can focus on our business.

**What do you dislike about SiteGround?**

This is a newly-emerged dislike. Our email is also hosted at SiteGround. SiteGround recently discontinued the SolarWinds spam protection and now uses their own built spam protection. I would love to pay SiteGround extra to get the SolarWinds protection back. And there aren't many things I LOVE to pay for other than pizza. tequila, and shoes.

This change is causing many headaches for us. I found this enough of an immediate ongoing problem that I wanted to note it in a review.

If this doesn't improve soon, we'll likely have to move our email hosting out of SiteGround, to an Exchange server. (We will never use gmail.) Note all of our "likes" are based on the fact that we're not technical, we're a smaller team, we need to focus our time on customers. Do you think we want to take on hosting our own email?

If you want to host your email elsewhere, the below points might not be an issue for you.

New issues since this change:

1) The new spam protection lets too much obvious spam in our inbox. SiteGround says the protection is based on your "natural behavior." If our natural behavior is looking at dangerous obvious phishing emails in our inbox, and blocking the senders, sure, that's our natural behavior. But I don't want to see that in the first place! I cannot think of an example of when the previous spam protection allowed a password phishing attempt to hit my inbox. It simply didn't happen. I'm worried about our employees falling for this.

2) The sheer amount of cold spam emails now hitting our inboxes is annoying. We wade through them to see legitimate emails. I hit "block" "block" "block" but frankly I don't want to see these in the first place.

2) The new spam protection doesn't work well when we add a sender in our junk folder to safe sender list. I found many emails I want landed in the junk folder. I've tried "never block sender" and "never block sender's domain" many times. They still go to the junk folder.

3) The first three points are annoying. Another issue was worse, it caused problems for our customers. We have a SaaS app that sends automatic transactional emails using email addresses hosted at SiteGround. These emails reliably delivered for more than two years. The day the spam protection changed for our account, we started getting complaints of non-delivery from customers. Sendgrid showed our emails failing delivery due to spam blocks. Our reputation is 100%. We don't do cold marketing emails. SiteGround's support of course said the issue was the IP address. Could be true, but is the date when problems started only coincidental? We upgraded our plan with Sendgrid which added a significantly higher monthly expense, but it solved the problem.

4) There's no visibility into which emails are blocked from reaching us. We used to be able to scan for blocked emails and set rules. Sometimes customers have gmail and yahoo addresses with higher risk of spam blocking``. Sometimes prospects and customers at businesses that run heavy cold email campaigns wind up blocked from reaching us. We used to be able to see and fix this. Now we have no visibility.

Prior to this spam protection change, I had no complaints about SiteGround. We like the website hosting. This change with spam might become a dealbreaker for the email hosting.

**What problems is SiteGround solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SiteGround's product and support allows us to focus on our customers, not on our website.

**Official Response from SiteGround Reviews:**

> Thank you for taking the time to share detailed feedback about your experience with SiteGround. We truly appreciate your thorough assessment, as it helps us identify areas for improvement and ensure we continue to provide a service that aligns with our users' needs and expectations. We're glad to hear that you've found SiteGround to be a suitable hosting solution for your needs and that you appreciate our services and support. WordPress Staging tool and our user-friendly interface are indeed a couple of the components of the hosting service designed to make the user experience as seamless as possible.

We apologize for the recent challenges you've encountered with your email hosting, especially regarding the change in spam protection. We understand how critical efficient email management is to your business operations. And we'd like to clarify how the new Spam Protection system works. It has been designed to provide both security and ease of use by eliminating the need to log in to a third-party panel. Any message that is perceived as suspicious will be delivered to the respective email account’s Junk folder where it is easily accessible for review. If the message is miscategorized as suspicious, you simply need to move it from the Junk folder into your Inbox. This action trains the software not to forward such messages to the Junk folder. Instead, it will deliver them directly to your Inbox in the future. If you have noticed legitimate emails being delivered to your Junk folder, moving them to your Inbox would be sufficient to fine-tune the filter. If the opposite happens, any spam messages delivered to your Inbox that are moved to the Junk folder will be perceived as suspicious/spam in the future. In addition to this, adding specific domains/email addresses to the allow/block lists will also help with fine-tuning the filter.

Your feedback regarding the new Spam Protection service is invaluable to us. And we'd like to assure you that we are constantly working on refining our system to ensure it better aligns with our users' needs and effectively filters spam without causing inconveniences.

Our support team is also available 24/7 via your account Help Center and will be happy to investigate any reported cases where you've noticed legitimate emails being blocked by the filter and address them. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us at any convenient for you time. We are here to help!

Kind regards,
The SiteGround Team

  ### 49. Best for growth

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sorin C. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2023

**What do you like best about SiteGround?**

After looking at a few hosting providers, Siteground offered the best dedicated hosting, with a global CDN coverage included in the price and very good wordpress support - tools, features and after I discovered the plugins that come with it - SEO, website optimization, cache etc.

**What do you dislike about SiteGround?**

A lot of their competitors offer freebies, like Google ads credit or 1 year free SSL and stuff like that. I understand that for a small company that's a big cost, but wouldn't hurt for them to enter in a partnership with someone and offer things like this.

**What problems is SiteGround solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I host my website https://thereach.ai/ on Siteground. I ran various tests and analysis tools to understand my ranking, SEO score, optimization and honestly it works much better than some of the bigger hosting brands I used in the past. The site is responsive and fast.

**What do you like best about SiteGround?**

SiteGround makes my website hosting as easy as it could be. No fiddling with WordPress versions on Linux servers, etc. Just get up and running fast.

I've used self-hosted WordPress on cloud servers before, and I'm not going back.

**What do you dislike about SiteGround?**

The webmail isn't great. I probably shouldn't complain because it's more of a free add-on than a core feature, but I find myself leaning towards paying up for Google Workspace just so I don't have to rely on the SiteGround email interface anymore.
