## ProjectWise Reviews
 ### 1. Project Wise is the worst product I use on a day to day basis.

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Civil Engineering | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2025

**What do you like best about ProjectWise?**

Project Wise is a great time waster. It's like file explorer but worse! Are you in a flow and need to open a file? Great news when using Project wise it takes 10 times longer than normal, this offers a great time to look at anything that wastes time.

When PW is at its best a major inconvenience and time waster.

**What do you dislike about ProjectWise?**

PW support is anything but competent. In the last week PW has been down for 4 days, but it was up for the weekend (when nobody is working) just to die again on Monday. Bentley's incompetence is engrained in every program they make. If it weren't for cheep government agencies continuing to shovel money to Bentley they would be out of business, and the world would rejoice.

**What problems is ProjectWise solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It does nothing but cause problems.

 ### 2. Projectwise Experience

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Oscar M. | BIM team leader, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

The granularity that I can parameter on this platform

**What do you dislike about ProjectWise?**

I dislike the web graphics part of projectwise, it looks like an old platform

**What problems is ProjectWise solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The must important thing about using Projectwise is the possibility to parameters all our process as we like, for exemple workflows and transitions until workflow phases.

 ### 3. Smart way to control your Documents

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Prajwal J. | Graduate Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 28, 2022

**What do you like best about ProjectWise?**

Project wise is product from Bentley ,
It is a very powerfull tool , it allows you to workflow the documents so you can allow certain people to give the write access and rest to just view the document . It has another great option where we can create multiple drawing sheets in one shot , documenting the drawings made easier with this application

**What do you dislike about ProjectWise?**

The application is not that user friendly and proper training is required

The application sometimes is very slow and consumes alot of time to download and upload

**What problems is ProjectWise solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I work in a civil construction industry,
So creating documents for wach site location is a hectic job , so project wise has made this task easier and also we can creat n number of sub folders for one project so we can document it properly and also creating drawing sheets made our lives much more easier and quick

 ### 4. Good secure platform for project files management and sharing

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sumukha B. | Electrical Engineer, Design, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about ProjectWise?**

Its highly secure, tons of options for file management, information storage and support multiple types of data including direct integration with Autodesk AutoCAD and Revit softwares for direct and easier access and management.

**What do you dislike about ProjectWise?**

Its difficult to use, little complicated UI and require sign in everytime dor added security which is kinda annoying. Moreover each data sources need seperate authentication and access too.

**What problems is ProjectWise solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use ProjectWise for project files/documents/drawings management, review and sharing with the clients. Some of the classified projects are required by clients to use this secure platform for managing files and sharing.

 ### 5. Good Software for Documents Management

**Reviewed by:** Lav M. | Senior BIM engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 08, 2023

**What do you like best about ProjectWise?**

In Project wise 365 you can maintain your BIM model documents and monitor your workflow. You can review your design and try to resolve the issues. The best thing is that you can manage your work flow because it is cloud based software.

**What do you dislike about ProjectWise?**

As per my experience the project wise is very slow to process the data if you are upload the any rvt flie nad later you need to wait around 15 to 20 minute to upload MDR file in the project wise because it takes time to reflect rvt file in the MDR file. And each time you need to login. And loading time is too much.

**What problems is ProjectWise solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The benefits of the project wise is that you can share any kind of the file example revit, idgn, dwg etc. It is easy to setup to work within your budget and resources. It is good for metro work collaboration so the everyone can manage and monitor their work.

The really slow opening of AutoCAD drawings.

**What problems is ProjectWise solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When a group of global team members are working on a multi-billion dollar project it helps to keep important documents on track and helps define how specific files are to be used.

 ### 9. ProjectWise Explorer Application Review

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Huzaifa H. | Autodesk Application Specialist (BIM & CAD), Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 07, 2022

**What do you like best about ProjectWise?**

What I like best about ProjectWise explorer is that it is a data source and not just any file explorer. It reduces the structure of folders because you can add a lot of metadata/information to files; hence all the files can be stored in a single folder. The searchability is very good; you can use a lot of parameters to search files. The user interface is also good, and you can modify it as per your requirements. ProjectWise allows to track the updates to the files, that's great! There are lot of cool features in there.

**What do you dislike about ProjectWise?**

What I dislike about ProjectWise explore is that it is slow, and this can be a significant issue.

**Recommendations to others considering ProjectWise:**

I would recommend it based on the features and benefits it provides.

**What problems is ProjectWise solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it as a cloud-based data source for all our files. The benefits are that you can add metadata to files, it removes the need to go through the folders to get to a file, one can search it easily by using attributes/metadata. Since it is cloud-based, people across the globe can access it via the internet.

**Reviewed Date:** February 02, 2021

**What do you like best about ProjectWise?**

Ease of use in collaboration with external Consultants/ Vendors. The Web interface has improved, and I will look forward to it fully synced with O365.

**What do you dislike about ProjectWise?**

The limited "Notification" settings - Needs more "personalized/preferred" option for individual users/accounts. The client also needs a better overview of the related projects external organization's users, which is now unavailable.

**Recommendations to others considering ProjectWise:**

Permissions are configurable to per the organization's requirement, and the ability to connect with external parties is easy to set up.

**What problems is ProjectWise solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Submissions of deliverables - the ability to track/ trace/ review and looking forward to a more usable "Dashboard" that could be exported instead of just "raw data" for reports. Field Data Management Form - I hope to see enhancement.

 ### 13. Multitasking program

**What do you dislike about ProjectWise?**

Very very very slow, taking too much time to download, upload specially if the file is heavy. We can estimate that you as a user will have to waste 20% of your time just for that which is really uncomfortable

**What problems is ProjectWise solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Drafting drawings, uploading trackers, signing documents and reports.

The biggest benefit is that you keep track of everything and anything which is very helpful in big scale projects.

It integrates easily with Microsoft Office, Autocad, microstation and Staad.Pro tools. The collaboration of project documents is done immediately regardless of geographical location.

**What do you dislike about ProjectWise?**

It does not allow tracking the progress of the products. For us, a product is a set of files in excel, pdf, dwg and doc. In addition to the cost of licenses for viewing only and for those who design the documents.

**What problems is ProjectWise solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All engineering project information was shared in real time with the main office, the on-site project team and the client. The greatest benefit was the control of document versions and revisions.

PW make collaboration much easier.
Inter workability between different software
Ease of working online
No risk of loosing older version of your files
Made my working from home much easier without thinking about any local files
Best support from the Bentlety Customer Support team

**What do you dislike about ProjectWise?**

you need a very good net connection to work online without much problems
Not all software are supported in PW (MicroDrainage)
Some of the terms were a bit difficult to understand in the beginning.

**Recommendations to others considering ProjectWise:**

Initially you may find the software a bit difficult to use. But once you are thorough with the terms and tools the work will become much easier. But be ready with a good internet connection.

**What problems is ProjectWise solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am using PW for the last 2 years as a common data environment. We use dwg and dgn files for our regular works which is supported without any problem

The benefit of PW is users can access it from anywhere and mutliple organisations can come together to work on projects together

 ### 21. Using ProjwctWise as a Work Management System

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Timothy "Scott" C. | Supervisor of BSDS Team in Gas Operations, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2020

**What do you like best about ProjectWise?**

The best part of ProjectWise is its flexibility. It can be configured to do a lot of functionality that other system just cannot do.

**What do you dislike about ProjectWise?**

Support isn't the greatest at times. This doesn't happen very often, but it will happen eventually.

**Recommendations to others considering ProjectWise:**

Best product on market for document management. More mature than most products and half the cost of others.

**What problems is ProjectWise solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest issue that ProjwctWise fixes is collaboration between teams on a project. This includes internal and external teams. Once this is resolved, there are tremendous benefits that are realized. A good example is live data for all who have access to the project.

 ### 22. ProjectWise connects the world

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Civil Engineering | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 13, 2020

**What do you like best about ProjectWise?**

I have using ProjectWise from last 1.5years, and I believe ProjectWise plays a vital role in all Engineering Corporate Industries which deals with projects across the globe by simplifying the way we deliver the projects and removes the ambiguity in the client or the site team about "WHICH IS THE FINAL DELIVERABLE". ProjectWise reduces the additional task of maintaining a record of the deliverables and one can happily remove "SS" folder from their local/network drives as ProjectWise provides an option to archive the previous copy and thus by creating a new revision. Especially for a person in a role of Project Manager or Team Manager ProjectWise comes handy due to its dynamic nature as it helps to find out the total revisions happened in the Project and also get a record of whose has worked on a particular file. The level of control (to approve/reject a file) is a great feature which lets a project to decide on who actually can approve a final after the required Check & Review process before it goes out to the Principal client and thus making sure that every item that goes out is Technically sound.

**What do you dislike about ProjectWise?**

Every software has its own advantages and disadvantages. However, ProjectWise (let's call it PW) is way ahead with its advantages and I believe Bentley should consider feedback from the users and try to overcome the glitches in the software. Being a regular user of this software I have noticed some bugs which are listed below.
1. Sometimes PW doesn't let the user to open Excel/Word documents directly from the application. We have to export the document to local drive and import it back on to PW after making changes.
2. Bentley should consider including an option in PW to send an email notification to all or some specific users in a project once a file is updated. Maybe it should at least let the user select the type of revision made to a document and list of disciplines that may get effected as a result of the update he made. This will ring alarm bells to the other disciplines and helps them to make the necessary updates to their files.
3. Not sure if this feature is already available in PW, if not PW should let user to take a print of all the file/revision history

**What problems is ProjectWise solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The following are some of the Outstanding features of ProjectWise which makes it the Market leader
1. Advanced & Dynamic Document control
2. Ease of access of files to anyone sitting anywhere in the world
3. Reduces the number of emails that fly around with numerous attachments
4. Hassle free delivery to anyone anywhere across the globe
5. No limitation of File size & Type
6. Unique ID for every deliverable
7. Gives Opportunity to divide files based on their Nature (M3 models/M2 models/Renditions/Documents/Registers so on...,)
8. Gives flexibility to the user to login with multiple accounts and deal with different projects
9. Reduces ambiguity by maintaining proper Revision Control
10. Level of Control - lets the Project decide role/control a specific user can be given

I strongly recommend use of ProjectWise for Multi Disciplinary Projects in Construction Industry for a smooth and hassle management of deliverables.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nuria V. | E-commerce Management Consultant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 16, 2019

**What do you like best about ProjectWise?**

It provides us better and huge storage to store our files and all types of file can be stored effortlessly. We can easily share our files to other and without any data loss and it provides us complete security of our data. Projects can easily be found after years.

**What do you dislike about ProjectWise?**

It is very slow and gets down when we store something continuously or while sharing something to other. It takes a lot of time and sometimes gets down so all the work get paused and it takes time in responding back after getting down. Sometime our work doesn’t get saved and we think it has done but in actual it is not. It takes time to load files and when our file is huge it takes more time.

**Recommendations to others considering ProjectWise:**

It provides us easy sharing in In-house projects and better collaboration between teams.

**What problems is ProjectWise solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our company needed a project management tool for teams so we started using projectwise and it is very flexible to use and help us a lot in team collaboration. We have saved a lot of our projects from past and structured so many files and whenever we work on any similar project from past we easily find it on projectwise and access it. It does not only provide us document sharing but many more.

 ### 26. One of the best collaboration and project management tools

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nadia Samantha M. | Human Resources Manager, Financial Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 12, 2019

**What do you like best about ProjectWise?**

I love how it works in a project that makes the function of a large library where I can manage the data of my project in a more efficient way, it allows me to share with other people the necessary data to complete the project in a good way. The collaboration is something so simple after its implementation in the cloud, since it allows to work and edit a document at the same time according to its recorded versions, it makes revisions of the projects more fluid, since my colleagues from other branches and companies different from mine, we can share and edit files of different projects and it allows me to send by email the links of the file, in general, it is easier to work and what I like most is that the updates of each file They will be available to all those who obtain the addresses of the folder.

**What do you dislike about ProjectWise?**

It is usually very slow when it comes to uploading files, and more when they are integrated into the autocad and civil 3D platform, because it takes time to log in and locate the folder I am accessing.

**Recommendations to others considering ProjectWise:**

It is a very good tool to provide in one place all those important files within the projects, ProjectWise is very good and practical and more for construction projects, which I invite the whole community to opt for this software.

**What problems is ProjectWise solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I collaborate with teamwork better with more efficiency and with the fluid, as well as with the same objective. Up to date, it helps me to be able to track and manage all my projects as a collaboration and storage tool, they are two functions in a single software.

 ### 27. PWDI is a must for big companies and projects.

Cloud based file management.

 ### 29. Good data sharing platform

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 13, 2019

**What do you like best about ProjectWise?**

--- It is a great way to organize files in one place
--- Ability to share data anywhere in the world
--- Because of workflows and automation; the aspects of the sheet creation process is a huge time saver

**What do you dislike about ProjectWise?**

--- Sometimes, it takes more time to load files
--- It can be a little confusing to use at first

**What problems is ProjectWise solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's good for us to increase collaboration speed and quality of information exchange between our various departments (i.e. Design, Purchase and Engineering). It's quite easy for design team to access & share designs and get it timely approved. Once it's approved, Procurement team will get a notification and as per approved design, they start working on supplier and bid management. Engineering team is able to manage entire project team as per approved design / model and also able to keep track of your contractor's and labor's work reports with daily logs.

 ### 30. Projectwise -

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arpana S. | Senior Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 27, 2018

**What do you like best about ProjectWise?**

ProjectWise is like the online server which can be accessed from any part of the world and by any user who has access to it. The uploads and downloads using ProjectWise is very easy and quick. We can also get the backup of the tasks previously done. It also gives the user details who created and updated the file. This helps to keep the projects organized as there is no limitation in creating the number of folders.

**What do you dislike about ProjectWise?**

One big disadvantage is if the ProjectWise server is down then we cannot work on the project as we will be unable to open or work on the files and it takes a lot of time to get it repaired which results in loss of project time. Sometimes the projectWise will be really slow which affects the productive time.

**Recommendations to others considering ProjectWise:**

People who are working on project drives can definitely migrate to Projectwise as this is user friendly and secure. There is no restrictions on the number of users and this can accessed globally. Large files can be easily downloaded or uploaded to projectwise. This can be used for multiple projects with ease. This also gives the details of the user who created, modified or uploaded the file.

**What problems is ProjectWise solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Major business benefit is that it can be accessed globally and anyone can work on the file uploaded in projectwise. Also it is a secure server where there is no issue of files being hacked or deleted.

 ### 31. Terrific idea, mediocre performance

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Evan M. | Staff Professional I, Civil Engineering, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 03, 2019

**What do you like best about ProjectWise?**

It's an excellent way to connect an entire company together and put all their data housed under one roof. Multiple offices or regions and can access each others client's information, projects and data simply by navigating through the same interface. File organization is very similar to your typical Windows explorer display and operates similarly. Recovering files, running audits and scans on project folders is a helpful tool included as well.

**What do you dislike about ProjectWise?**

My experience led to slow performance of our major design projects. It was difficult to work on projects that were complicated in nature and had multiple files and folders and data associated to them within the projectwise network. the software is heavily reliant on your internet speed as well. If your office or company does not have decent internet speed, then your connection to projectwise documents will be slower because of it; keep this in mind if you have remote workers at their homes instead of the office as well.

**Recommendations to others considering ProjectWise:**

I would first consider the size and complexity of your project before using projectwise. If you have several large files and copious amounts of data thats tied to the project, combined with the complexity of your team and who will be involved. That could determine if using a software is right for you. However, the program is easy to use and adapt to.

**What problems is ProjectWise solving and how is that benefiting you?**

its a great way to share files between teams that are separated, or if multiple teams are working on the same project.

 ### 32. Clunky Software

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Libu K. | Assistant Engineer, Highways & Drainage,UK, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 26, 2018

**What do you like best about ProjectWise?**

Provides best nd fast way of file sharing for the projects that we work on. Makes the file sharing for project easily to colleagues working in our fellow branch offices and even for those who are working in the same project from different companies. Can upload any file formats that we are working on. easy to send file links through mails. Working and sharing for approval from the corresponding field simultaneously makes it a best platform for designers. Its user friendly. The option to provide the file information/ description, titles etc makes it more easy and clear. Daily updates for the file will be available for those who have access to the folder location. More secure and safe platform for keeping the files safe and secure. Autocad and Civil 3D integration for projectise will help you access the regular updates done on the Xrefs that are used in the drawings. Doesnt need license permissions even if you are working from a different server.

**What do you dislike about ProjectWise?**

Sometimes the software works bit slow while loading and copying out the files. Takes time to login to the corresponding folder location. This depends on the internet speed mainly. Can be little more user friendly with the menu.

**Recommendations to others considering ProjectWise:**

Safe and secure platform and easily accessible

**What problems is ProjectWise solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Will reduce the use of old xref files and everyone will get proper udpates on a regular basis, so the related sectors can have access to the latest files

I love the speed and user friendly aspects of the program. It is easy for me to teach new employees how to use the system no matter what age. I also like there is a variety of authentication options, email, text, physical. I have used other products and this is definitely the top program in my mind. My company has been using this software for over 5 years and have had no major issues. Even when our server room was on fire we were up and running in a day

**What do you dislike about ProjectWise?**

I dislike the speed sometimes. Sometimes there is a really slow connection time. That vastly effects the larger programs I work on. Additionally, some of the graphics are very grainy and not of high quality compared to the normal connection.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 24, 2018

**What do you like best about ProjectWise?**

ProjectWise is a master at organizing large amounts of files into one area within the program. I love that it can do this efficiently. It also lets you share data with anyone, anywhere in the world (not just the United States). Collaboration is made easy, thanks to the implementation of the cloud. The overall system is incredibly useful (especially for those who are just learning).

**What do you dislike about ProjectWise?**

The program can be daunting to use for the beginning user. Watching tutorials on YouTube and reading online help forums will be of great help. The load time is also a little sluggish at times, but that just comes with the territory when you are storing large amounts of information.

**Recommendations to others considering ProjectWise:**

My recommendation to you is to try the ProjectWise program out! It allows you to collaborate with others nationally and internationally (a major positive, in my opinion). If your team is global, you need to check into this software. It is a powerhouse program with large abilities.

**What problems is ProjectWise solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have loved using this program simply because of how simple it is to share flies with anyone. I have used other similar programs in the past, and it doesn't compare to ProjectWise. I am able to share files quickly, increasing my overall work day efficiency. It's a flexible program that works with me, not against me. I also love that it a data storage/collaboration tool all rolled into one.

**What do you dislike about ProjectWise?**

I don't like that sometimes it freezes. Also the web browser is easy to use when it comes to work documents or Excel, but it is really slow when you need to work on CAD files.

**Recommendations to others considering ProjectWise:**

Use projectwise if you are using Windows currently!

**What problems is ProjectWise solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The benefits is that only one person can work on a file a time so this helps with having multiple copies of a file. It also lets you see who made the last edit to a file.
