"A Complete and Intuitive Tool"
What do you like best about DbVisualizer?

I have been using DbVisualizer on a daily basis, both for my personal projects at home and for my professional tasks at work, and it has quickly become my absolute go-to database client.

What I love most about DbVisualizer is how incredibly complete it is. It handles everything I throw at it without feeling bloated or overly complicated. In fact, it is exceptionally easy to use. The interface is intuitive, allowing you to connect and start querying right away without a steep learning curve.

A few standout features that make my daily work easier:

Effortless Explain Plans: Getting an execution plan is a breeze—they practically just roll right out. This is a massive timesaver when I need to quickly analyze and optimize my queries.

New AI Integration: The recent addition of AI features is a fantastic touch. It shows that the developers are actively innovating and keeping the tool aligned with modern development needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"DbVisualizer: A Reliable Hub for Mission-Critical SQL and Sensitive Environments"
What do you like best about DbVisualizer?

DbVisualizer is a fixed hub of connections that always stay with you, and where you can manage sensitive environments (prod, staging) with individual banners (red, yellow) for warning and identification (to be warned to be careful before you execute the sql on prod). It has your back for mission critical sql, and it also has all db specifics in check (like showing you timezone specific date information / simulating a different time-zone for showing the time-zone specific data-fields, helping you with hard to research problems like transaction safety and deadlock situations by providing sql windows for concurrent execution of sql side-by-side, and many more things you need as database specialist of full-stack-dev). It provides you with a great history of your logs where you can search in to profit from your already learned experience. It has been a great support in my career as software developer for quite some years, and i especially like that it always keeps up with recent drivers and brings in new databases and the UI has also greatly improved with a modern interface, and it also works on Linux! Also great are its export and import capabilities. You will find great use in being able to export Table Schemas when you need to construct those tables again you SQL seed files, or similar tasks. You can even let it process long running big data imports from script files safely.

They also have specificaly good customer support, where you really get helped when having a problem with specific instructions and guide to help you get on track again with very fast answer frequency (often on the same day) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?

There is not much. The only thing i can think of, is that the SQL History gets a bit slow over time if you like to keep everything! like me. Then it starts to slow down a bit when you click on the history and you need to wait until it shows up. Also the startup time of the tool can be a bit slow (in older versions). "Intuitive and easy to use"
What do you like best about DbVisualizer?

I am pleased to be able to navigate the application and find what I need to work with the SQL server I require, without having to be in constant search of an update or extra files.

The customer support service has a very fast response time, which made me very happy when I requested help, even when the time difference is significant, as I am in a different country and continent.

The installation and configuration were very simple; it doesn't have major system requirements, so it runs smoothly during long sessions and uses the system's resources correctly, without causing conflicts.

It is also very easy to connect to the databases, as a menu with a list is displayed, and you can use a security password to access the system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?

I have no negative comments about the program. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"connecting to different databases in the same working environment"
What do you like best about DbVisualizer?

I really value the ability to work across different database platforms, especially MySQL, Oracle, and SQL Server, and to support all of their versions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?

You need to be careful about how much data you pull when retrieving records, since it consumes memory that has to be configured properly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlined AS400 Development with DbVisualizer"
What do you like best about DbVisualizer?

I like that DbVisualizer is free and easy to use, with multiple features like saving queries and impressive execution speed. I enjoy how stable it is while working with AS400 DB2 and handling large tables smoothly. The autocomplete and query history features are very useful, especially when working with large legacy tables where remembering column names is challenging. I also appreciate being able to export data directly without additional steps, and the setup was quite simple. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?

When working with very large queries, the results take time. While it's clean, it looks old compared to the latest tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I’ve been using it for quite a while, and the UI is very simple, responsive, and intuitive. It has all the commands you can think of, and they’re ready to use right away. I use it daily, and it makes my life easier when it comes to working with DBs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?

The only negative point I’ve noticed so far is that it disconnects very often, so I constantly have to reconnect. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Seamless Oracle & Microsoft Connectivity—Great for Real-Time SQL Learning"
What do you like best about DbVisualizer?

Easily connects to different enterprise databases. We have a mix of Oracle and Microsoft here, and it’s been really helpful for creating routines to set up departmental lakehouses. More importantly, it’s an excellent tool to show students in the classroom how to structure SQL and run it in real time with real data.

I use the tool daily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?

You have to renew the educational license every year, but since that’s the industry norm, it isn’t a major issue for me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Comprehensive Tool That Handles Large Table Listings with Ease"
What do you like best about DbVisualizer?

I tried several alternatives, we have many tables across DBs and others couldn't handle the listing of the tables. The package it very comprehensive and offers more capabilities than most (paid version) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?

With the number of options, there are many icons to figure out how to use. Exporting could be simpler (multiple confirmations before getting CSV out) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Awesome DB product!"
What do you like best about DbVisualizer?

The basics are all there plus incredibly powerful tools. Setting up or copying connections is incredibly easy. My favorite feature is the editor templates, which have allowed me to automate all the steps in common admin tasks. Relationship diagrams/lists for complex interactions have been extremely helpful. I love being able to type now into a field and get a timestamp. The features for selecting, copying and exporting are very user friendly. Great documentation. DbVis support is top notch! I always get a response in less than 24 hours, and they know their product inside out. Setting up connections are extremely simple, and it is easy to move between different types of databases, integrating scripts. I use it every day. Happy camper. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?

Formatting everything in a query after FROM with () and ` characters. I always have to edit/replace because they make it difficult for me to read/edit the query. Same for the DDL. In the data grid, it is somewhat of a pain to have to change the ID column to (null) when you copy a record, but that may be a function of the MySql/MariaDB.
