It found some ghost objects that we did not recognize. But even with these problems, it was working somehow on newer versions of the Mac OS. **What problems is DaisyDisk solving and how is that benefiting you?** At some point, the OS has so many "unidentified" objects that the updates cannot run. Before we purchased the Daisy Disk licenses, the choice was either to unload some space-hungry software from the Mac, or aquire new machine. Using Daisy Disk allowed us to identify chronic problems with Mac and fix them preventively. This has resulted in saving up so much in hardware cost coz we realized after using this software that we did not need another bigger hard disk ### 3. The same color for each type of file and the size of graphs depending on the file size are my favorite features of this software. Also, the integration with cloud storage is a very very useful feature, I am genuinely in love with this software. It is literally one of the best purchases. **What do you dislike about DaisyDisk?** some of the files are not being deleted from Daisy Disk. Very easy to get an idea of what files are taking up the most storage. And that is very annoying **What problems is DaisyDisk solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use that to organize the files in all the disks as we have a sheer amount of data which needs to be sorted very regularly ### 5. It's intuitive, easy to navigate, and makes keeping my disk clean easy and free of any stress that I might have deleted something I shouldn't have. I also love how it visually shows you what's being cleaned and how much space each segment is freeing up. **What do you dislike about DaisyDisk?** So far, there has been nothing to dislike. **What problems is DaisyDisk solving and how is that benefiting you?** My Macbook runs out storage literally every other month it feels like as I use it for both work and personal reasons and still have not purchased an external storage drive. And before finding DaisyDisk, I tried manually to free up storage but always ended up deleting things I wasn't supposed to or didn't mean to and I was never able to free up anything from the private space which is where so much of my storage was going to. The other tools I tried before DaisyDisk were either way too expensive for me personally AND/OR still didn't let me access the private storage and it was like a constant loop of never having space because I just couldn't find anything that worked. But DaisyDisk was and is exactly what I needed and I've never stop using it since I discovered and bought it. ### 6. I'm able to see what's on a drive and, very quickly, decide what needs to be deleted or copied over to another drive. It has a great built in feature that bundles up hidden and puregeable space for review and if determined unecessary, you can delete them from within the app itself. Never had an issue using DaisyDisk in this manner. **What do you dislike about DaisyDisk?** The app is so straight forward and simple to use there isn't much room for complaints. If anything, I would request to be able to search by file type. I know that's not really what the app is meant to do. However, the scanning method is so thorough and precise, it might be a useful add-on. **Recommendations to others considering DaisyDisk:** I've recomneded this app to just about everyone on my team. **What problems is DaisyDisk solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use a lot of travel and shuttle drives. Meaning, I pass drives over to different team members. I use DD to review what is on the drive and make space for new files by moving old archive work to our server and back drives. ### 7. Its simple and elegant. The visual representation of your data makes it easier to see what the largest files are. **What do you dislike about DaisyDisk?** I wish it would scan on start up instead of having to click to scan but that's a small gripe. **What problems is DaisyDisk solving and how is that benefiting you?** I do video work and run out of space on my drives constantly. Daisy disk helps me figure out what files are filling up my Hard Drive so I can consider moving or deleting them. Sometimes I realize that I have duplicate files in multiple locations because of Daisy Disk or that a certain program has created huge files for itself in the background. It's very no-nonsense. **Recommendations to others considering DaisyDisk:** Just take the plunge and buy it. I actually think it's free, or at least was for a while. It's well worth the price! **What problems is DaisyDisk solving and how is that benefiting you?** It's great for quickly finding storage on one of my drives that I can delete and free up space. It makes hunting for deletable (that's a made up word, but all words are made up) files incredibly easy, and dare I say enjoyable. ### 12. It gave me a clear picture of where my drives were at which allowed me to find the files that were causing issues due to their size. **What do you dislike about DaisyDisk?** I don't really have any complaints. It ran a little slow the first time I used it but that was likely the computer and not the software since I was having issues with file sizes. A cloud service had synced files but unfortunately one had very large video files in it. **What problems is DaisyDisk solving and how is that benefiting you?** Through the team cloud-based file sharing, this computer had pulled down some very large files when it was connected to the could. Unfortunately, this meant that we needed to find the files that were the culprit. This allowed us to identify the biggest file first so that we could start speeding up again. ### 13. You are able to identify and delete those files you deem unnecessary from within Daisy Disk. **What do you dislike about DaisyDisk?** It might be useful if hidden files are automatically revealed and disclosed as hidden files so care would be taken in deleting those files. **What problems is DaisyDisk solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use an Apple Macbook Pro where solid state disk space is somewhat limited. Using this utility allows me to quickly interpret and manage my solid state storage. ### 14. The coloration of the differing file types, the pie-chart breakdown that is also arranged in a hierarchy of folders is at once complex, but simply understood. **What do you dislike about DaisyDisk?** I would like to see some improvement in the ability to actually delete purgeable files. While I have no problem deleting most files/folders from within the UI, for some reason I'm never able to delete what the system marks as purgeable. **Recommendations to others considering DaisyDisk:** Make it a point to read through the online manual of the app. Also, recognize that DaisyDisk isn't a "disk cleaning utility", as much as it is a disk usage visualization utility. It shows you how your space is being utilized to make a user better informed in regards to how they might optimize their storage. While you absolutely can use it to remove files, it's first priority and what it does so well is education about disk usage. **What problems is DaisyDisk solving and how is that benefiting you?** As the person responsible for backups, disk management, and helping other members of our office understand their systems, the visualization of where disk space "goes" has been tremendously helpful. By showing other employees how the use of external media for storage of large files improves the performance of their system, we've managed to improve a lot of our productivity for disk intensive read/write tasks. ### 17. We run a ton of video and graphic projects through our marketing department. Caches, render file folders, and application files can grow out of control fast.
