asterisk have a disadvantage in the dtmf tones, when there is a small packet loss the dtmf are not recognized and generate incongruence in the ivr. They could improve the snmp integration natively to monitor their extensions and behavior from event monitoring systems

# What is future direction for Asterisk?
Is Asterisk constantly innovating? In my point of view, modern communication tools like Zoom, Hangout, Slack and WhatsApp are filling the gap of office communications very quickly. Some of these tools seamlessly integrate themselves with unified communication platforms. I think people will have less need of PBX systems like Asterisk in future.
