# Which salary benchmarking platforms integrate with existing HR and compensation management systems so data flows automatically rather than requiring a monthly export?

The manual monthly export is the thing that quietly eats a comp team's time, so I've been looking into which salary benchmarking platforms actually connect to your HRIS and comp systems and keep data in sync on their own. This is where reviews get specific, because "has an integration" and "the integration works for your stack" are two different things. Here's what practitioners report, tied to the systems they name.

Workday Compensation (4.3/5, 77 reviews): If Workday is already your HCM, reviewers say comp runs off data that's in the system, so most of the manual work and re-keying goes away.

Payscale Ascent (formerly Marketpay) (4.4/5, 273 reviews): Reviewers describe HRIS integration through mapped, scheduled exports to systems like PeopleSoft over SFTP, and one notes an ADP sync so pay adjustments flow into pay runs.

Payscale Ascent (formerly Payfactors) (4.3/5, 719 reviews): Users mention a UKG integration and a real-time API feed connecting Workday to Payscale, though one flagged that troubleshooting the integration took coordination with their internal tech team.

OpenComp (4.6/5, 32 reviews): Reviewers highlight automatic data flow via a Paylocity integration that prevents salary ranges from going stale and eliminates double entry.

CompUp (4.9/5, 50 reviews): Reviewers note it integrates with HRMS systems, so data moves with minimal manual intervention during cycles.

Which of these actually held up with your specific HRIS, and did the sync stay reliable? If you're on Workday or PeopleSoft, I'd love to hear whether you kept comp native or bolted on a specialist tool.

The integration-owner point is a big one. I’d also check how these systems handle schema changes. HRIS fields, job architectures, and compensation structures don’t stay fixed forever, so an integration that runs quietly today can start mapping the wrong data after a change. Has anyone seen one of these flag a broken or incomplete sync proactively rather than discovering it during a comp cycle?

### Comment 2

If Workday is already the core HCM, keeping comp native usually feels like the lower-maintenance path. A specialist tool makes more sense when benchmarking depth is the priority, but then sync reliability and ownership of integration issues become the real deciding factors.

### Comment 3

OpenComp's Paylocity sync getting credit for keeping ranges from going stale is a good detail, because staleness is the failure mode nobody notices. A monthly export at least has a date attached to it. Whatever you land on, having a visible last-updated indicator that someone owns is worth setting up early.

### Comment 4

The UKG-to-Payscale sync held up for us after a rocky first month, and the flag in this thread is fair: troubleshooting needed our IT team, not just HR. Since then it's been reliable enough that nobody thinks about it, which is the whole point. On your Workday question, if comp already lives in your HCM I'd stay native unless benchmarking depth forces a bolt-on, because the integration-owner problem never fully goes away when there are two systems.
