&lt;p&gt;Bots can handle the repetitive parts of onboarding, but they can&#39;t replace the human moment when a new hire actually meets their manager. The automation should handle the checklists and forms so that time stays human.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Workato would be my pick for keeping onboarding automation running at enterprise scale. I’d expect the strain to show up when HR starts maintaining too many exceptions and one-off workflows, so keeping the onboarding sequence standardized would be just as important as choosing a platform that can handle the volume.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;For policy acknowledgments specifically, check how the record gets stored and retrieved later. An automation can fire the acknowledgment perfectly and still leave you unable to produce proof that one person signed one version of a policy three years ago. That retrieval path is what HR will eventually need most.&lt;/p&gt;

Where it starts straining is around exceptions to the standard onboarding flow that weren&#39;t accounted for in the initial automation design.&lt;/p&gt;
