# Which PR analytics platforms are actually good at catching negative brand mentions early enough that your team can respond before things escalate?

Hey G2 reviewers, researchers, and PR analytics folks, this one's for you. I’m trying to work out which platforms in the PR Analytics space are genuinely good at catching a negative brand mention early enough your team can respond to it before it becomes a news cycle.

What early detection needs to mean in practice, as I understand it:

Alerts in minutes, not a next-morning summary

Sentiment analysis sharp enough to separate a real complaint from noise

Spike or anomaly detection, so a volume surge gets flagged even before anyone's watching the right keyword

Coverage beyond text: broadcast and podcasts are where escalations hide longest

Most leading tools bet differently on this. Meltwater bets on breadth, Muck Rack bets on raw alert speed, CisionOne bets on AI scoring. A few we've been looking into:

Meltwater spikes detection and sentiment-shift alerts pushed straight to Slack or Teams, across the widest media-plus-social footprint here.

Muck Rack pulls from outlet feeds and X directly instead of waiting on indexing, so mentions often land before they're even searchable. Lighter on the analysis side, though. Sentiment depth is thinner.

CisionOne’s React Score auto-flags potentially harmful coverage and anomaly detection watches for unusual activity. But its satisfaction scores are the lowest of this group on the G2 grid.

The platform that detects a mention first is not always the one that gives a PR team the earliest useful warning. Speed only matters if the alert has enough context to show whether something is isolated noise or the start of a wider issue.
