# Which fire department platforms migrate legacy data without losing compliance records?

I've been digging into which fire department platforms migrate legacy data without actually losing compliance records in the process, since moving off an old records system without losing years of history is one of the more stressful upgrades a department can take on.

What actually matters here is probably: data that maps cleanly into the new system instead of needing manual re-entry, templates and pre-plans that carry over instead of starting from scratch, and certification or training records that stay intact through the switch. A few platforms hold that line reasonably well:

Aladtec by TCP: Switching over means ditching stacks of Excel sheets and shared drives entirely, with paper-based tracking replaced by records stored inside the platform.

Rhodium Incident Management: Built around reusable, customizable pre-plans, so a department doesn't have to recreate incident templates from scratch after switching systems, with post-incident debriefs coming out more accurate as a result.

TargetSolutions: Compliance coverage and completion tracking carry forward cleanly for departments leaning on it for continuing education records, which matters most right after a system change when nobody wants to lose certification history.

For anyone who has actually gone through a legacy migration like this, how much manual cleanup did it take before you trusted the new system's data?

The real migration test is whether historical records remain complete, searchable, and audit-ready after the cutover—not just whether the new system can import files. I’d compare field mapping, validation reports, certification-history preservation, and how much manual reconciliation is required before the department is comfortable relying on the migrated data.
