# Which ETO ERP options have good mobile access for shop floor and field service teams who need to update job status without going back to a desktop?

Hey G2 community,

I am looking into mobile access options in the ETO ERP category, specifically for shop-floor and field-service teams. There is a real difference between "the system has a mobile app" and "people on the floor actually use it to log time and update job status without reverting to paper." Looking for the honest version of how these hold up.

IFS Cloud: Field service management is a core product area, not an add-on. Reviewers describe using it across multiple locations for asset maintenance, service operations, and production coordination, regardless of where the work is happening. How does the mobile experience compare between field service use cases and straight shop floor data capture?

Kinetic (Epicor): The cloud interface is described as significantly faster than the classic desktop client, and reviewers specifically call out access from any device as a practical day-to-day advantage. One administrator mentioned handling password resets and information requests from outside the office as something that proved the mobile access actually worked. For production teams logging job status mid-shift, how much of the system is genuinely available in the web view versus just read-only reporting?

SAP ECC: Mobile access is available through Fiori and various add-ons, but reviewers describe the primary experience as desktop-oriented. The degree of mobile functionality available depends heavily on how the implementation was set up. It is worth asking specifically what shop floor access looks like before assuming the mobile story applies to ETO workflows.

Rootstock Cloud ERP: Built on Salesforce, so the mobile infrastructure inherits the Salesforce platform. Reviewers describe accessing the system from anywhere without friction. One reviewer specifically mentioned performing tasks like RMAs outside the office as a routine activity. Does the Salesforce mobile platform translate well for shop floor data capture, or is it better suited to more structured tasks that an office worker would handle remotely?

For shops where getting floor staff to actually use the ERP was a challenge, what finally changed the behavior: the interface, the device, or something about the process itself?

Shop floor and field service read as one question but they pull in opposite directions. Shop floor is connected, so it lives or dies on how few taps it takes to clock onto a job and whether you can pull up the drawing with dirty hands; field service is often in a basement or a site with no signal, so the one thing that decides it is real offline mode, does the app queue the update locally and sync when the signal comes back? The trap is that a lot of "mobile ERP" is really just a responsive web page, which is fine on the floor and useless to a tech with no bars. For anyone with field techs, does your app actually work offline and sync later, or does it just spin, and which one are you on?
