# Which customer success software is most trusted by customer success managers based on user reviews?

I’m looking into which customer success software customer success managers seem to trust most based on their own reviews, rather than relying only on broad product ratings. For this comparison, I focused on recurring themes from CSMs, CS leads, and closely related customer-facing roles in the G2 Grid report for Customer Success.

A few products show different reasons for earning that trust:

ChurnZero (4.7/5, 1,617 reviews): Customer success managers frequently mention automation, dashboards, account visibility, and having daily work organized in one place. Several reviewers also call out alerts and playbooks for staying proactive around renewals and outreach.

Custify (4.7/5, 529 reviews): CSM reviews lean heavily toward ease of use, customer health visibility, configurable alerts, and centralized customer information. One senior CSM also praised the team’s responsiveness to feedback, which seems to contribute to confidence in the platform.

Gainsight Customer Success (4.5/5, 1,762 reviews): CS leaders and managers highlight its flexibility, health scoring, reporting, and ability to act as a customer data source of truth. The trade-off that appears in reviews is that the same depth can add complexity.

Totango (4.3/5, 1,150 reviews): Customer success users mention health scores, renewals, lifecycle tracking, risk logging, and having portfolio information centralized. Team leads also value being able to see customer activity when accounts need to be handed over.

HubSpot Service Hub (4.4/5, 2,924 reviews): CSMs point to its CRM connection as a major advantage, especially for seeing emails, calls, notes, support issues, and other customer history together.

For customer success managers who’ve stayed with one of these for a while, what actually created trust: reliable customer data, automation you could depend on, good support, or simply knowing nothing important would slip through the cracks?

Honestly Gainsight is the clearest answer here, it's the most-reviewed customer success platform on G2 and highly rated, and CSMs lean on it for health scores, playbooks and renewal management, so it's kind of the category standard for larger teams. Totango is another well-established one that CSMs trust, often chosen for flexibility. ClientSuccess is a strong pick if you want something a bit lighter and friendlier for a smaller CS team. To be real, "most trusted" splits by team size, Gainsight and Totango win at scale where you need heavy automation and analytics, while smaller teams sometimes find them more platform than they need. Are you a growing CS team wanting depth, or a lean one that needs something quick to adopt? That flips the recommendation.
