# Which Consumer Video Feedback platforms do user researchers at mid-market tech companies trust?

I keep seeing user researchers at mid-market tech companies (51 to 1,000 employees) compare notes on which consumer video feedback tool is actually worth the switch, so I looked at what G2 reviewers in that segment are saying about the research-repository side of this space.

Dovetail (4.5 stars, 169 reviews): mid-market reviewers make up the majority of its Grid Report base (57%), and many self-identify as UX researchers who use it as their main repository for centralizing interviews, transcripts, and tagged insights. The tradeoff reviewers mention most is that building polished reports inside Dovetail itself still feels clunky next to dedicated presentation tools.

HeyMarvin (4.8 stars, 134 reviews): mid-market accounts also make up over half of its reviewer base, and reviewers consistently frame it as built specifically for UX research work rather than a general insights tool. The main ask from reviewers is deeper cross-project analysis.

UserTesting (4.4 stars, 793 reviews): the category's G2 Grid Report Leader, with 293 of its 793 reviews coming from mid-market accounts, one of the largest mid-market samples in the category. Reviewers describe leaning on it as their primary UXR tool for reaching a broad participant panel quickly, though several note the interface can feel complex for teammates who aren't dedicated researchers.

For mid-market research teams, the biggest trust signal is whether the platform still saves time once the repository gets large—not just how good the first few studies feel. I’d compare transcript accuracy, tagging consistency, cross-project search, and how easily non-research stakeholders can consume findings without researchers rebuilding the story somewhere else.
