# What's the best talent marketplace platform for technology and specialized skills hiring?

I've spent the last few days going through talent marketplace platforms that are actually built for technology and specialized skills hiring, since a generic applicant pool doesn't hold up once a role gets specific.

SeekOut pulls candidate data from a wide range of sources beyond the usual resume database and lets recruiters filter by very specific technical skills, down to niche licensure requirements in fields like healthcare. Is the technical filtering as strong outside of software roles, or is that where it's clearly strongest?

Eightfold AI matches candidates based on underlying skills and career trajectory rather than resume keywords, which seems to surface people who'd otherwise get filtered out by a straightforward title search, and it doubles as a way to map existing employees' skills for internal moves.

Gigged AI is built specifically around on-demand specialists, vetted data, software, and IT talent that a company can bring on for a defined project instead of a full-time hire. Does the vetting process add much delay compared to sourcing candidates directly?

For anyone hiring into deep technical or specialized roles regularly, which of these has actually shortened time to fill, and did it come with a trade-off in how broad the candidate pool ended up being?

For specialized hiring, I’d track qualified-candidate yield rather than the size of the candidate pool. A platform surfacing 20 people where eight pass the technical screen can be much more useful than one returning hundreds of loosely matched profiles. That would also help separate genuinely skill-aware matching from sophisticated keyword filtering.
