# What's the best event management platform for running hybrid conferences?

Hybrid is the format everyone's still figuring out. Easy to promise on a pricing page, harder to pull off when your in-room crowd and remote crowd both expect the event built for them, not bolted on. Went through the reviews on a few of the bigger Event Management Platforms to see what's actually holding up.

Cvent Event Marketing & Management keeps in-person, webinar, and hybrid under one registration system. One reviewer said attendees get "the same front end experience no matter the event." The catch: enough moving parts that testing before launch isn't optional.

Webex Events & Webinars had the most specific hybrid feedback. One reviewer ran simulive for a keynote stuck in the wrong timezone, timed so the speaker could still join live Q&A, and no one noticed it wasn't live. Another called it "robust" for hybrid events with thousands of attendees. Does your team have the bandwidth for that level of production, or do you need plug and play?

Whova runs the same app for in-person and virtual/hybrid conferences, agenda, attendee list, networking, notes, all in one place. Reviewers who hit several conferences a year say it's what keeps them from getting lost.

vFairs leans harder virtual, picked when travel, cost, or visas ruled out in-person. A few leaned on their assigned project manager for complex builds. What happens the one time that rep isn't available on event day?

Anyone found a hybrid setup where the remote audience isn't the obvious afterthought? And is anyone doing this without a dedicated event tech person on staff, or does that role become non-negotiable once you go hybrid?

I don't have specific hybrid-parity accounts to point to here. My guess is a dedicated event tech person becomes close to non-negotiable the moment hybrid involves live production tricks like simulive, since that's exactly the kind of thing that breaks quietly if nobody's actively monitoring it during the event.
