# What PR analytics tools handle GDPR-compliant media monitoring for European brands that need to track press coverage without creating data privacy issues?

My question is: what PR analytics tools handle GDPR-compliant media monitoring for European brands that need to track press coverage without creating data privacy issues?

Media monitoring includes personal-data processing, including journalists' names, quotes, social handles. So, the question isn't who claims GDPR compliance (everyone does) but whose machinery you'd rely on:

CisionOne has a dedicated privacy program with a DPO, privacy champions in product teams, SCCs for non-EEA transfers.
I’d treat GDPR-safe media monitoring as a data-governance question, not a vendor-certification question.

All three platforms may have mature privacy programs, but legal review should focus on the exact role each party plays, what personal data enters the platform, where it is processed, how long it is retained, and whether the customer can respond to access or deletion requests without depending on a vague support process.
