What we’ve learned over time is that there’s rarely a single “top” platform it almost always comes down to how well it fits the company’s existing setup and what they’re actually trying to build. In a lot of cases, when a company is already deep into the Microsoft ecosystem, Power Apps just makes things smoother because everything connects easily and teams don’t have to fight the system. On the other hand, when governance and structure are a big priority, Mendix tends to feel more controlled and easier to manage at scale. OutSystems usually comes into the picture when performance and reliability really matter, especially for customer-facing or critical apps. We’ve also seen tools like Kissflow work really well for operations teams that just want to move fast without overcomplicating things, while Appian feels stronger in environments where workflows and compliance are tightly connected. But the interesting part is, most of the challenges we’ve seen weren’t actually because of the platform. They were more about unclear workflows, too many decision-makers, or trying to scale before things were properly set up. Even a great tool struggles in that situation. In a few projects, we’ve even seen teams start with no-code to move quickly, and then gradually layer in more custom logic as things grow, which seems to work better than trying to overbuild from day one. Would be interesting to hear if others here have run into scaling issues with these, especially when multiple teams start using the same platform.
