# What is the best equipment rental software for construction companies tracking inventory and crew scheduling?

Construction rental teams have two moving targets at once: where every asset is and which crew member needs it next. That makes coordination the deciding factor when choosing equipment rental software for inventory tracking and crew scheduling.

From the Grid products, Rentman looks like the clearest combined fit. EZRentOut is stronger on construction-specific inventory visibility, while Sharefox and Twice Commerce address narrower parts of the workflow.

Rentman: A construction reviewer uses it for material planning, quotes, delivery notes, invoicing, repairs, and customer management from one web-based system. In the closest crew-focused review, an operations manager said planners and warehouse staff could see project status at a glance while the platform tracked materials and kept crews informed.

EZRentOut: Construction reviewers repeatedly mention knowing where equipment is, when it should return, and what is available for the next rental. It also brings rental scheduling and billing together, although one fleet manager warned that stock can appear available before it is physically returned if estimated dates aren’t watched closely.

Sharefox: A construction managing partner said moving from manual processes improved control over inventory and bookings while reducing administrative work and errors. The reviews say less about crew scheduling, so it appears better suited to the rental and asset side of the problem.

Twice Commerce: The construction feedback is lighter, but one reviewer specifically used it for complicated equipment with dynamic scheduling, while another valued the customer booking calendar. It may fit a simpler operation that needs reservations and timing organized without a heavier system.

If you use separate tools, where does the handoff usually fail: warehouse availability, jobsite delivery, or crew communication?

On your separate-tools question, the handoff that seems to break most often in this category is warehouse availability, not delivery or crew comms. The reason is that availability is a forecast rather than a fact until something physically comes back, so any downstream plan inherits that uncertainty. Rentman keeping planners and warehouse staff looking at the same project status is a sensible answer to that, since it at least puts the forecast and the people relying on it in one place.
