# What file converter tools work best for a law firm or financial services team that regularly needs to convert and archive large volumes of contracts and reports?

&lt;p&gt;I think the answer changes depending on whether the priority is preserving legal evidence or satisfying regulatory recordkeeping. Both need reliable conversion, but they optimize for different outcomes.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;For law firms, I&#39;d prioritize document fidelity, PDF/A support, Bates numbering, defensible redaction, metadata sanitization, OCR quality, and integrations with document management systems. The question is whether a converted document will still stand up during discovery or court proceedings years later.&lt;/p&gt;
