# What are the best tools for getting local service businesses more reviews without a ton of manual follow-up?

A lot of local service businesses (landscapers, contractors, dentists, that kind of thing) don't have the bandwidth to chase down reviews manually, so I wanted to see which tools actually automate that well according to real users.

NiceJob: Built specifically for local service businesses, and the reviews keep mentioning how it automatically fires off a review request by text and then email as soon as a job closes out in the CRM. One agency reviewer specifically liked being able to add clients one at a time instead of buying a bunch of licenses upfront.

Synup: More built for agencies and multi-location brands managing reviews across dozens of sites at once. Reviewers like being able to see which specific location needs attention instead of checking every office one by one, though a few mentioned the reporting could explain the "why" behind a drop a bit better.

Birdeye: Skews toward larger multi-location operations, but reviewers still bring up how it consolidates review requests across Google, Yelp, and other sites into one dashboard. Does anyone know if it's overkill for a business with just a handful of locations, or does the automation still pay off at that size?

Anyone here running NiceJob or Synup specifically for a service business with under 10 locations? Curious whether the automation actually cuts down on the manual nudging, or if you're still following up by hand more than you'd like.

From what I've seen, the automation handles the straightforward case well, a job closes and the request goes out without anyone remembering to send it, but there's still a tail of non-responders that ends up needing a manual nudge either way. So it's less about eliminating follow-up entirely and more about only having to chase the harder cases instead of every single customer, which is still a real time savings for a business with under 10 locations even if it's not fully hands-off.
