# What are the best theater venue management strategies for capacity utilization from performing arts organizations?

Hey G2 community, what are the best theater venue management strategies for capacity utilization from performing arts organizations? I wanted to look specifically at what reviewers describe doing with a platform's capacity tools, not just whether the feature exists on a spec sheet.

ThunderTix reviewers describe setting up shows well in advance and letting the system handle daily capacity tracking and automated waitlists without needing to check in on it constantly. Does that kind of set-and-forget capacity management actually reduce staff time, or does it just move the checking-in to a different part of the week?

Spektrix reviewers describe using the platform to determine print quantities and marketing spend based on real sales pace, which is a capacity strategy that starts before the show even opens rather than just tracking seats sold on the day.

Patron Management reviewers describe handling a large number of package and pricing variations for recurring subscription series, which matters for capacity utilization when a venue is trying to fill multiple show dates rather than just one performance.

For anyone actually managing capacity across a season with multiple shows running: did you find yourself adjusting strategy show by show, or did one general approach from the software work across your whole season?

<p>The highest-leverage capacity move fires before a single ticket sells, in how you scale the offering to expected demand: the print run, the room, the number of performances. Once a show is on sale, capacity tools can only redistribute demand you already have, waitlisting a full night or discounting a slow one, they can't create it. So capacity utilization is mostly a forecasting and scaling call made in planning, and the software's job there is a believable early demand signal, like adding a Saturday matinee because week-one pace projects a sellout, rather than managing seats on the day.</p>
