# ConnectWise PSA vs Autotask vs HaloPSA for an MSP with around 20 technicians that wants to stop paying for features they never use?

This one comes up constantly in MSP circles, so I went to the professional services automation switching data on G2 rather than feature lists to see who actually moves where and why. Here's the quick read for a roughly 20-technician shop weighing the three, plus one leaner option that keeps surfacing.

ConnectWise PSA: the most complete of the three and the most customizable, with switchers arriving from older tools like Tigerpaw whose integrations lagged, but reviewers consistently flag the dated interface, steep learning curve and cost as the price of that depth.

Autotask: strongest when you live in the Datto and Kaseya ecosystem, with deep RMM and documentation integrations, though reviewers describe an overwhelming, click-heavy interface and billing workflows that feel under-modernized.

HaloPSA: reviewers migrating from SherpaDesk, Zendesk, Freshservice and Tigerpaw single out the modern interface and automation that bends to how the MSP works, explicitly contrasting it with the two older incumbents, with the tradeoff being a heavy initial setup.

SuperOps: the leaner alternative for teams that want automation and a clean interface without the legacy weight, with reviewers noting Xero and Hudu integrations and honest caveats about a maturing knowledge base.

If you've run more than one of these at around 20 techs, which features were you genuinely paying for and never touching? And for anyone who migrated, was the switch worth the setup pain, or did you underestimate the data and workflow rebuild?

Ran ConnectWise for six years then moved to HaloPSA. The feature bloat on ConnectWise is real. We were paying for a third of what we actually used. HaloPSA setup was painful but the day-to-day is cleaner and the automation actually fits how we work rather than how ConnectWise thinks we should work.
