Power BI Connector for Salesforce
Power BI Connector for Salesforce is a data integration product by Metrica Software that connects Microsoft Power BI to Salesforce without custom code or ETL pipelines.
The connector is installed as an app inside a Salesforce org via AppExchange. Users create data sources within Salesforce by selecting objects, fields, and filters. Each data source is then made available to Power BI through an OData feed and a generated Power Query script, which can be reused across multiple reports.
The connector supports standard and custom Salesforce objects, preserves object relationships, and handles incremental data refresh — extracting only new and changed records rather than reloading full datasets. It operates within existing Salesforce permission models, providing read-only access to data aligned with each user's access rights.
Key functional characteristics:
No limits on data volume or number of records exported to Power BI
Incremental refresh for large or frequently updated datasets
Support for custom objects and cross-object relationships
Adapts to Salesforce schema changes such as new fields or modified objects
Access tokens managed within the connector app, with expiration and revocation controls
The product is designed for organizations where Salesforce serves as the primary data source for sales and revenue reporting and Power BI is used as the analytics layer.
