BRAINR is a Portuguese software company founded in 2023 and headquartered in Leiria, Portugal. BRAINR was established as an independent entity following a three-year development period (2019-2023) within Grupo Lusiaves, one of Europe's largest vertically integrated poultry groups. The platform was co-developed with this design partner to address the absence of modern, food-specific operational management solutions in the market. Co-founders Paulo Gaspar (CEO), Rui Batista (Head of Engineering), and Ricardo Granada bring over 60 combined years of experience in ERP systems, software development, and food industry operations. In 2024, BRAINR closed an €11 million seed funding round led by C2 Capital Partners, the largest seed round completed in Portugal to date. The investment supports product development, team expansion, and international market entry across Europe, North America, and South America. The company currently employs approximately 30 people and serves food manufacturers across multiple protein categories, including poultry, beef, pork, and seafood. BRAINR's platform manages operations representing approximately 30% of Portugal's meat production volume and is deployed across facilities in Portugal, Spain, Lithuania, and Mozambique.
