Huly is open-source software that can be self-hosted on personal servers. However, Huly is a complex product that integrates with many services like GitHub, Google Calendar, Gmail, and Telegram, with more integrations planned for the future. This complexity makes self-hosting not the ideal choice for many users. Additionally, the Huly team is developing features for cross-workspace (cross-company) collaboration, enabling Huly Cloud users to form dynamic projects involving company employees, freelancers, contractors, vendors, and other third parties. Therefore, Huly Cloud, available at https://huly.app and maintained by the Huly team, becomes an appealing and convenient option.
The Huly team's philosophy is rooted in open software, and Huly will always be free. However, to sustain cloud operations and further development, cloud users will be charged for consumed cloud resources. These resources currently fall into three categories: storage, network, and compute.
Storage charges are based on the size of your data. We do not count the sizes of Huly objects (Issues, Chat Messages, Wiki Pages) except for rich-text collaboratively-edited content within those objects. This allows users to have unlimited Huly objects in their workspace without affecting storage limitations. However, other (attached) files such as documents, images, and videos will be counted and subject to limitations according to the purchased plan.
Network charges apply only to audio and video calls.
Compute resources will be charged with the upcoming Huly AI and Huly MetaBrain features. Pricing for these will be determined later. For now, we can assure users that these costs will not exceed those of industry leaders like OpenAI. Users will also have the option to use their OpenAI accounts with Huly, paying directly to OpenAI for these services.
