Shifter is a residential proxy network for collecting public web data, including price monitoring, ad verification, SEO rank tracking, market research and AI training data. It has operated since 2012. The network routes traffic through 205M+ residential IPs in 195+ countries. Every request uses one gateway endpoint over HTTP, HTTPS or SOCKS5, with no port lists to manage. Country, state, city and ASN targeting is set in the proxy username, so changing location only changes the credentials. Sessions rotate to a new IP on every request or stay on one IP for a set duration, for logins and multi-step flows. Concurrent connections are not capped, and usage is billed per gigabyte. A dashboard shows live bandwidth and request volume, with sub-users, team workspaces and a usage API.
