Everyone can get excited about a tool during the demo, but it is harder to find one open on people's screens six months later. I've been looking into reviews across the influencer marketing platform category because "we bought it and stopped using it" shows up in reviews more often than any vendor would like. That said, these are the tools I found to be long-term allies in this space:
- GRIN: A one-person team said it pulled them off the hamster wheel of manual outreach and tracking conversations in a messy Instagram inbox, which is usually the exact thing that sends people back to spreadsheets. Reviewers keep campaigns, contacts, and payments in one central place.
- Later Influence: Users credit the automation with moving creators through campaign stages on its own, and one went from 4 influencers a month to around 70 without adding headcount. That kind of jump is hard to walk back from.
- Aspire: Reviewers who run influencer work as only part of their job lean on it as an all-in-one they don't have to babysit, with automated workflows and templates handling the repetitive parts so it doesn't get abandoned when things get busy.
- CreatorIQ: Described as housing every campaign in one ecosystem and removing the manual tracking that usually gets dropped first, though a few note the newer discovery view took some adjusting to.
For anyone a year or two into influencer marketing, which platform did you actually stick with, and what was the specific moment it proved worth keeping over your old spreadsheet? And if you did revert, what broke the habit?
I’ve found that the platforms teams stick with are usually the ones that remove a specific recurring headache, not just add more features. For me, the turning point would be when outreach, approvals, and payments stop needing a separate spreadsheet to keep everything straight.
