[What is the most affordable incident management software for SMBs?](/discussions/what-is-the-most-affordable-incident-management-software-for-smbs)

I’ve been digging into [incident management tools for smaller teams](https://www.g2.com/categories/incident-management/small-business), and affordability is a huge factor. Most SMBs I’ve worked with don’t have the budget (or headcount) for enterprise-scale platforms, so I pulled up the latest G2 grid to see which tools are actually working well for small businesses. Here are the top ones that stood out:

- [**NinjaOne:**](https://www.g2.com/products/ninjaone/reviews) super high satisfaction ratings and lots of reviews. From what I’ve read, SMBs like it because it’s easy to set up and doesn’t require a massive IT/security staff to run effectively.
- [**ClickUp**](https://www.g2.com/products/clickup/reviews) **:** not a “security-first” tool, but people use it for incident tracking and workflow automation. It’s affordable and flexible, which is why so many small teams adopt it.
- [**xMatters**](https://www.g2.com/products/xmatters/reviews) **:** strong focus on communication and coordination during incidents. Smaller teams like it for keeping response organized without overcomplicating things.
- [**Better Stack:**](https://www.g2.com/products/better-stack/reviews) comes up a lot for being budget-friendly with simple monitoring + incident management features. Good fit for startups or lean IT teams.
- [**ServiceNow IT Service Management**](https://www.g2.com/products/servicenow-it-service-management/reviews) **:** more of an enterprise tool, but it’s on the SMB grid too. Seems like smaller teams that already use ServiceNow elsewhere extend it into incident management.

From the reviews, **NinjaOne and Better Stack** get called out the most for SMB affordability and simplicity, while **ClickUp** wins on flexibility.

Anyone here using these day-to-day in a small business setup? Curious which one has been the most affordable without cutting corners on features you actually need.

Also, I would like to know what features are must-haves vs. nice-to-haves in an incident management tool for SMBs.

[What is the best platform for automating incident workflows?](/discussions/what-is-the-best-platform-for-automating-incident-workflows)

One of the biggest challenges I run into is getting incident workflows out of spreadsheets, docs, and Slack pings — and into something that actually runs automatically. Between routing alerts, assigning tasks, and kicking off playbooks, the right platform can save hours in the middle of an incident.

Looking at the latest G2 data on[incident management platforms](https://www.g2.com/categories/incident-management), here are some of the top platforms reviewers highlight for automation:

- [**ServiceNow IT Service Management**](https://www.g2.com/products/servicenow-it-service-management/reviews) **:** sits at the top of the grid with high satisfaction and market presence. Enterprise teams love how it standardizes and automates workflows end-to-end.
- [**NinjaOne:**](https://www.g2.com/products/ninjaone/reviews)gets perfect satisfaction scores and is often mentioned for how lightweight but effective its automation can be, especially for IT and security ops teams.
- [**ClickUp**](https://www.g2.com/products/clickup/reviews) **:** not a traditional IR tool, but reviewers point to flexible workflow automation that teams repurpose for incident management.
- [**xMatters**](https://www.g2.com/products/xmatters/reviews) **:** well-regarded for automating communications and response processes during major incidents.
- [**Freshservice**](https://www.g2.com/products/freshservice/reviews) **:** strong adoption in IT teams; its workflow automations are simple but effective for standardizing incident handling.
- [**PagerDuty**](https://www.g2.com/products/pagerduty/reviews) **:** known for on-call and escalation automation; reviews show it’s a backbone for response workflows in many orgs.
- [**New Relic**](https://www.g2.com/products/new-relic/reviews) **:** more of an observability platform, but users mention tying monitoring data directly into automated incident workflows.
- [**incident.io**](https://www.g2.com/products/incident-io/reviews) **:** newer on the grid but gets positive mentions for how fast teams can spin up workflows directly inside Slack.

From what I’m seeing, **ServiceNow** is the enterprise heavyweight, **NinjaOne** is loved for its simplicity, and **incident.io** feels like the scrappy up-and-comer for teams that live in Slack.

Curious what others here are using. Which platform actually automates workflows in a way that saves you time when incidents hit?

For those using automation-heavy platforms, how much do you rely on out-of-the-box workflows vs. custom ones?
