What Is CRM? A Data-Backed Guide for 2027
TL;DR
What is a CRM? CRM stands for Customer Relationship Management. It’s a system or software that businesses use to manage interactions with customers and potential customers.
What is CRM software? CRM software keeps every interaction with a customer or prospect in one place. According to G2 Data, it's used mostly by small businesses (64%), followed by mid-market organizations (27%), and enterprises (9%).
What does a CRM do? Keeps a record of every customer, moves deals through stages, and gives every team the same view. Strongest at contact and account management (90%), weakest on mobile (83%).
What is a CRM used for? Getting customer data into one place, named in 29% of reviews and more than twice as often as anything else.
What are the types of CRM? Four: operational, analytical, collaborative, and strategic. Most platforms cover all four, so you are choosing a product rather than a type.
What do buyers find hard about CRM? The learning curve (20%) and features that are missing or too thin (17%). None of the top complaints is the software failing to work.

Recap of Dreamforce 2022: Innovation and Sustainability
Innovation and sustainability were two major themes at the annual Salesforce event, Dreamforce 2022. Industry conferences typically see the host company promoting its brand by handing out company swag to attendees. Dreamforce 2022 opted instead to focus on Salesforce's sustainability efforts by announcing plans to plant trees for each attendee as part of the company goal to plant one trillion trees by 2030 and provide donations to local public schools. In addition, the company that has helped fuel the CRM Software category announced updates and innovations to its product offerings, including Slack, Salesforce Sales Cloud Unlimited, and of course, Salesforce Genie.

Increased Adoption of Lead-to-Account Matching and Routing Leads to New G2 Category
It’s no secret that it can be quite difficult to manage all inbound leads into an organization. When a lead form from a survey or marketing event is completed, the lead often populates in the CRM software or other related sales account management software. While this lead populates in a CRM, sales and marketing departments spend lots of time to find the correct account that matches with the lead, as well as the salesperson who should be responsible for reaching out to that lead.

Why Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Is Still Relevant
Customer relationship management (CRM) software is not a new technology. It first made its debut in the mid-'80s before the term CRM was even coined. The combination of database marketing and contact management was handy in a world just realizing the utility of relatively small and inexpensive desktop computers; businesses haven’t looked back since.

Question on: ActiveCampaign
How can I use goals effectively in my automations?
I've tried using goals in our automations, but haven't been able to make them work effectively
Depends on what the goal is. Some focus only on selling, some only on branding, etc. I focus only on getting attention. It's why I use the RSS triggered email function. I know that if I get the same message out there, the same way, on the same schedule consistently, I'll eventually get the sale on my website and the followers I want on my whole social media platform., which are my two primary objectives.
Goals help marketers to exit contacts from workflows.
Examples include: Form Submission, Email engagement, scheduling a meeting, page views, enrolment in another workflow etc.
Please contact me if you need help.
Regards,
Ravi Jasti.
Hi Max - I'll paste the official AC definition here and then comment with an example:
"a Goal action is a way to move a contact to another location within an automation as soon as they meet specific conditions, which are configured in the Goal action. Once a contact meets these conditions, they will immediately jump from their current location to the Goal, skipping all steps in between. They will then proceed to the next action in your automation. "
For example, the automation trigger is "Submits a form (in this example, a "keep me informed" list." The automation: 1) sends a thank you to the Contact Email 2) adds Contact to the "Keep Me Informed List 3) adds the Contact to a new "nurture" automation that sends a series of pre-made emails. But you prefer to send the text messages if possible, and skip the "nurture" automation entirely.
So you set a GOAL called "TEXT CONTACT" which checks if contact has a mobile phone number (could be a custom field you added to the form or a check box asking if they would like to receive text messages). If this condition is TRUE, the automation jumps to the TEXT CONTACT goal, thereby bypassing the START NURTURE automation.
This can also be accomplished by IF/THEN branching. But GOALS have more flexibility and are multi-directional. So you can move anywhere in the automation at any time.
If you'd like more help with this, please contact me.
I use goals to have a customer exit an automation. For example, the goal is to purchase the product. Once purchased, they are removed from the automation. If not purchased, the continue along the email sequence. This avoids sending emails about a product that the customer already purchased.

Question on: HubSpot Sales Hub
Will Hubspot connect well with variety of accounting softwares?
That will makes Hubspot nearly the huge ERP software
There aren’t any native integrations that I’m aware of. There are a few you can set up through Zapier. A word of caution: HubSpot isn’t currently compliant to store private financial information (e.g. credit cards, ssns, etc). It’s also not HIPPA compliant. No easy or straightforward solution, but if you're cautious of how you map fields and what fields you map, you can avoid the compliance issue.
It depends of ERP software. In the marketplace you will find severals software that have native integration. If your actual ERP doesn't appears in list, you have 2 choices:
1) Conect them using API's: I have conected, with languague programming, actions that I need to track. It's not very hard.
2) Zapier: Hubspot have a native conection with Zapier. You can work with it to attach all systems you need to work.
Hubspot has API hooks that you can access third-party accounts through HubSpot. I would look into solution partners and see if there is a ready-made app that can give you what you require. I don't think to build it from the ground up would be worth the effort unless:
1. It is mission-critical
2 You cannot customize Hubspot to accept an import from another application in the manner that is acceptable to you
3. That is your business, building apps to share with the HubSpot community
I would need to know more about your operation before I could guide you to a better decision.
We have not connected ours but the HubSpot Marketplace is a good place to look. I saw a couple that had some basic native connections such as Freshbooks and Xero and PieSync and Zapier offer a more robust connection for a fee. I would love to see a robust native connection between HubSpot and Quickbooks Online.
Check the marketplace, if not you should be able to connect via an API connection.

How can Pipeliner fit into lottery businesses in Nigeria?
A process where we have agents selling and making return for us after deducting their commissions?
The Pipeliner CRM can be fit into any business as far as sales management is concerned. It
provide solution for current challenges in the business environment. It helps you to track deals, manage activities and get things done. Pipeliner crm will help empower your sales agent to generate even more higher revenue for your organisation. It allows sales people to have complete autonomy. It makes reporting even more easier through the use of Pipeliner mobile crm, while on the go.
I believe that this particular type of gambling has lost the interest of the audience, and I personally do not see much potential in its future. In today's digital era, online casinos have emerged as a more promising avenue. If you are planning to enter the gambling market, then it is better to choose this direction. I recommend that you read the review of Nostalgia Casino at https://leafletcasino.com/online-casino/nostalgia-casino/, it can definitely serve as a perfect example to study. Alternatively, you can simply enjoy playing on such online platforms.
But in any case, whether it is a lottery business in Nigeria or an online casino, it is important to take into account the local regulatory framework and ensure proper oversight to ensure transparency and fairness of all possible gaming processes and payment transactions.
Very interesting. Even though I don't know anything about the lottery. I've always been afraid to try my luck. But when I came across this source https://bestcasinoplay.ca/payments/skrill/ I thought about trying my hand at gambling. The opportunity to receive bonuses seemed very attractive to me.
Pipeliner is an exceptional sales engagement tool for sales managers. I don't really know how the lottery systems are in Nigeria but in Ghana, the lotto agents register with the National Lotto Authority. The individuals will go and buy the lotto ticks and will return to the lotto agents for their commission if the win by chance. I suggest the National Lotto Authority can use the Pipeliner CRM to track all the licensed lotto agents to track their activities and update them on new events. It is not advisable for the lotto agents to use the pipeliner crm because they can easily go bankrupt.
Indeed, it is the role of CRM pipeliner: sales management by the sellers. During lead qualification, it is possible for the seller to insert their sales commission percentage on the total sales price, which will then be deducted during the transaction. Yes, pipeliner CRM is the appropriate tool for your work.
