Question on: Google Workspace
Why are the icons not so specific? It is really a suggestion to improve, in particular I would like the interface to be more friendly.

As you may know, Google told us they were not going to support Google Drive any longer and it was up to the user to use Drive at their discretion. I am assuming that we cannot expect a decent answer from them if asked your question. I too find the interface to be clunky at best and very confusing to the "average" user.

Which icons are you referring to in Drive? The icons used for different types of uploads (aka. Word, PDF, Excel, etc.)? Or something else?

The question is not specific.

I have worked on other cloud based online application and the interface on Google drive is far more better than the rest and it's much user friendly too.

Could you be more specific in your question? What do you mean that the icons are not so specific? or what do you intend to do?

What do you mean by not so specific? I think you can rename them, but can you elaborate about what you mean by your question?

I think that the question is not specific, in using the drive i fined it easy to use and the icons are clear and directed well to its meanings

Should you rephrase the question, the icons? When uploading files to your drive, you can name them, group them into folders and even put color labels on them. If you were a little more specific, I could help you use this tool every day.

I’m sorry I’ve never encountered this issue before I guess make sure the sender has it set for users to edit. Good luck

In Google Drive, the "shared with me" area is not actually a folder. Rather, it's a filter. To easily find files, when you "dig them out of" the Shared with me section, right-click the file to "add to my drive" . That will make it much easier.

Question on: Dropbox
What are your plans for the future to differentiate? How to compete vs Google Drive
Show More
This is a question better served to Dropbox themselves rather than the users that are on G2, however I will do my best to point out some major differences that already have been implemented vs. Google Drive
One of the biggest differences is Dropbox's usage of block-synching to update changes. This prevents users from editing the same file at the same time and causing the type of confusions that result in lost data/information.
Secondly, Dropbox's sharing, sorting and categorizing folders is far superior and specifically optimized for collaboration between multiple parties.
Lastly, the ability to QUICKLY move items from shared folders to personal folders or to share with specific users on your team is much more advanced and user-friendly in dropbox.
