[What capital project management software are real estate developers using to compare options and manage the full lifecycle from land acquisition through construction completion?](/discussions/what-capital-project-management-software-are-real-estate-developers-using-to-compare-options-and-manage-the-full-lifecycle-from-land-acquisition-through-construction-completion)

Looking for input from the[](https://www.g2.com/categories/capital-project-management)[Capital Project Management category](https://www.g2.com/categories/capital-project-management), specifically from real estate developers, where the lifecycle management challenge starts well before construction begins, includes site acquisition, due diligence, entitlements, design approvals, financing milestones, construction draw management, and certificate of occupancy, and where the platform needs to track all of those stages as a single connected project record.

1. [**Accruent Lucernex**](https://www.g2.com/products/accruent-lucernex/reviews): Built for real estate portfolio management across the full lifecycle from site acquisition and lease management through construction and occupancy. The platform tracks site prospecting, lease abstracting, rent payments, critical date monitoring, and construction project milestones in a connected system — making it the most directly purpose-built option in the category for commercial real estate developers managing large portfolios of sites at different lifecycle stages simultaneously.
2. [**Oracle Aconex**](https://www.g2.com/products/oracle-aconex/reviews): For the construction delivery phase specifically, Aconex provides the document management, approval workflows, and audit trail infrastructure that real estate developers need to manage design consultants, contractors, and authorities having jurisdiction simultaneously. Workflow automation handles approvals, submissions, and reviews. Aconex is strongest from design through construction and handover rather than from land acquisition through entitlements. It is a construction delivery platform rather than a full pre-construction lifecycle tool.
3. [**Oracle Primavera**](https://www.g2.com/products/oracle-primavera/reviews): For real estate developers managing complex mixed-use or large-scale developments where construction scheduling depth matters, Primavera provides the critical path management, resource optimization, and multi-project scheduling that keep parallel workstreams organized. The cost and work breakdown structure capabilities support the budget tracking that lenders require across development milestones.
4. [**Sitetracker**](https://www.g2.com/products/sitetracker/reviews): For real estate developers managing large portfolios of site acquisitions and build-outs, particularly tower and fiber infrastructure projects, Sitetracker provides the pipeline management, permitting workflow, and construction progress tracking that keeps large site portfolios organized from land acquisition through construction completion.
5. [**Octave Sequence Enterprise (EcoSys)**](https://www.g2.com/products/octave-sequence-enterprise/reviews): For real estate developers managing construction programs where project controls, depth, cost tracking, budget management, change order management, and earned value are the primary requirements, Octave Sequence Enterprise provides the financial controls infrastructure that large-scale development programs need. The platform consolidates cost, budget, forecasts, and performance data in a single system, eliminating the spreadsheet dependency that creates budget tracking errors on complex projects.

For real estate developers who have evaluated capital project management platforms, which stage of the lifecycle created the most platform selection pressure? Was it the pre-construction approvals and entitlements workflow, the construction draw and lender reporting requirements, or the handover and occupancy documentation?

The pre-construction approvals and entitlements workflow created the most selection pressure for us when we were researching this space. The construction delivery phase is reasonably well-served. Finding something that covers the full upstream lifecycle cleanly is harder.

[Which large-scale capital project management solutions have a mobile app that actually works well so project managers can review status on site rather than only from a desk?](/discussions/which-large-scale-capital-project-management-solutions-have-a-mobile-app-that-actually-works-well-so-project-managers-can-review-status-on-site-rather-than-only-from-a-desk)

Hi G2 community! I am researching the mobile-app quality of [Capital Project Management](https://www.g2.com/categories/capital-project-management) tools, where mobile-capable in vendor marketing often means a browser-based view that barely functions on a tablet, and what project managers in the field actually need is a native app that loads inspection data, flags issues, and updates status without requiring desk access.

1. [**Sitetracker**](https://www.g2.com/products/sitetracker/reviews): The Sitetracker mobile app is specifically and repeatedly credited as a direct operational benefit by field teams. It accelerates field audit workflows, eliminating the dwell time between field audit completion and project teams being able to review data, request A&E, and deliver to clients. This is a concrete operational outcome that demonstrates the app actually works in the field rather than just theoretically. Built on Salesforce, the mobile experience extends the full project record to the field.
2. [**Oracle Aconex**](https://www.g2.com/products/oracle-aconex/reviews): Aconex Field is the mobile companion for field inspection, defect management, and quality processes. The platform provides online approvals, document access, and communications through mobile access across tablets and phones. Users receive email notifications that avoid repeated logins, maintaining awareness of thousands of documents and emails from the field without being desk-bound.
3. [**Octave Sequence Enterprise (EcoSys)**](https://www.g2.com/products/octave-sequence-enterprise/reviews): For project controls teams reviewing cost, budget, and forecast data in the field, Octave Sequence Enterprise's centralized data platform reduces the reliance on pulling data from multiple systems before a site visit. The platform provides real-time access to project financials and forecasts, which reduces the data preparation time that field reviews previously required.
4. [**ProjectWise**](https://www.g2.com/products/projectwise/reviews): For engineering teams that need to access CAD files, BIM models, and design documents in the field, ProjectWise provides mobile access to the engineering data environment — the specific mobile use case for design-heavy infrastructure programs where field teams need to cross-reference design drawings against site conditions. ProjectWise is primarily an engineering document management system rather than a full capital project management platform.

For project managers who routinely review project status from the field, what is the single most important thing your mobile app needs to do? Is it schedule visualization, document retrieval, issue logging, or approval processing? And which platform has come closest to making that genuinely work without a desk?

Issue logging is the field use case that tends to separate genuinely functional mobile apps from ones that technically work. Logging a defect on-site in real time versus remembering to log it back at a desk two hours later changes the data quality significantly.

[What capital project management platforms are best for handling multi-billion-dollar infrastructure programs where schedule slippage and cost overruns are genuinely catastrophic?](/discussions/what-capital-project-management-platforms-are-best-for-handling-multi-billion-dollar-infrastructure-programs-where-schedule-slippage-and-cost-overruns-are-genuinely-catastrophic)

Hi G2 community! I am looking for [Capital Project Management](https://www.g2.com/categories/capital-project-management) tools, where the platform is not just a productivity tool but a risk management control, and where a scheduling error or cost tracking gap can mean nine-figure consequences for a public infrastructure program, major energy project, or national capital works program.

1. [**Oracle Primavera**](https://www.g2.com/products/oracle-primavera/reviews): Essential for keeping large, high-stakes projects on track, providing structure, foresight, and control that enable teams to complete projects on schedule and within budget. The platform handles multiple projects simultaneously, supports critical path method scheduling, resource optimization, cost and work breakdown structures, and provides real-time project insights — the full control stack that multi-billion dollar programs require.
2. [**Oracle Aconex**](https://www.g2.com/products/oracle-aconex/reviews)_:_ Built for the document control and communication audit trail requirements that catastrophic-consequence programs cannot compromise — a solid audit trail drives adoption, visibility, and a single source of truth while minimizing disputes. The platform stores, routes, and tracks all project correspondence and documents with version control and approval workflows, which is the paper trail infrastructure that large programs require for regulatory compliance, dispute resolution, and handover.
3. [**Octave Sequence Enterprise (EcoSys)**](https://www.g2.com/products/octave-sequence-enterprise/reviews): Designed for enterprise project controls, Octave Sequence Enterprise consolidates project cost, schedule, forecasting, risk tracking, change management, and performance reporting into a single platform — eliminating the fragmented spreadsheets and disconnected systems that create the data inconsistencies that cost overruns hide inside. For multi-billion dollar programs, the value is in earlier identification of cost and schedule variances before they compound.
4. [**IFS Copperleaf**](https://www.g2.com/products/ifs-copperleaf/reviews): Addresses the capital planning decision layer that sits above individual project execution, evaluating which investment scenarios deliver the most value, forecasting risk behavior across the asset portfolio, and demonstrating the consequences of budget increases or reductions to external stakeholders. For programs where the investment allocation decision is as consequential as the execution, Copperleaf provides the scenario modeling and value-based prioritization capability.
5. [**Sitetracker**](https://www.g2.com/products/sitetracker/reviews): For infrastructure programs in telecom, utilities, renewables, and EV charging — where multi-country rollouts of thousands of sites need to be tracked simultaneously — Sitetracker's end-to-end asset lifecycle management provides the multi-project visibility that catastrophic-consequence programs require at scale. Built on Salesforce, it connects project workflows, budgets, programs, and automation in a platform that has delivered operational visibility for companies like Vodafone, Telefonica, and Iberdrola.

For teams managing programs where cost overruns and schedule slippage have catastrophic consequences, which failure mode has your platform most visibly prevented? Was it a schedule variance caught early, a cost commitment that wasn't tracked, or a document version error that would have created a contractual dispute?

The document version error creating a contractual dispute is the failure mode I'd want to stress test specifically. In large programs the audit trail for design revisions and scope changes is often what determines who bears cost in a dispute.
