What you mean by run code? Compile? Test runs? Please elaborate on the languages you’re using. For basic HTML, CSS, and Javascript you can run it in a browser. For more advanced frameworks you would have to install NodeJS and run the scripts provided. For a NodeJS Application just create a server and run it in the terminal.

In Visual Studio there is option to Compile.
1) In Menu Bar - > Build -> Build Solution by click this the solution will build
2) And By just Pressing Ctrl+ Shift+B the solution will build.
More ever in new frameworks and latest VS it is auto building whenever you start typing code it will compile your code and show error if it has any error in code

Why does xcode take up so much space?
I just installed Xcode and see how much space it takes up. It's not a huge issue but I am curious as to why it does this. Does anybody know>

I had gotten curious about this before as well and found that it has to do with it having the need for multiple libraries (Mac and Windows do not share very much in common, thus the need for more than one library). I found a lot of useful information on how to reduce the space on StackOverflow.com.

That is an older Xcode version but you can navigate from there, I'm sure to find what you need.
