QT Creator is the development IDE, you can use the IDE however the QT libraries are only free for open source development which means if you use the open source license you must make your source code available. For non open source developments a commercial license is required.

CLION is an integrated development environment for C/C++ that is loosely based on the public domain IDE Eclipse. It is a member of a growing family of integrated development environments by Jet Brains. I have used it as my every day development environment for the last three years, and it has enhanced my productivity in many ways. Each new version brings unexpected new features and it has been a real joy to use. I am a confirmed CLION advocate.
