People tend to think of different types of charities and private foundations when they think of nonprofits. While it’s true that all charities, in general, are nonprofit organizations, the reverse isn’t always true. Understanding different types of nonprofits is crucial to ace governmental reporting and motivate communities, whether using admission-based nonprofit software or starting your first nonprofit.

Question on: ThunderTix
[When do I receive money earned from our ticket sales?](/discussions/payment-retrieval)

Payment Retrieval

Your money is deposited nightly to your bank account as tickets are purchased.

Answered: Jacob Migdal on November 30, 2016

One of the benefits of using ThunderTix is that you are able to work with your own preferred payment gateway for credit card processing. Having your own payment gateway means that all proceeds will be directly deposited to your preferred checking account nightly. You'll never have to wait to access ticket proceeds! In addition, you'll get three other benefits to your own gateway. First, it's a direct relationship between you and the processor. That means that we don't mark up the cost of credit card processing to act as a middle man which ultimately saves you money! Second, when a patron reviews their bank statement weeks or months after their purchase, they'll be more likely to recognize the name of your organization than if they were to see "ThunderTIx". Chargebacks and payment disputes occur from not recognizing the name of the company far after an event takes place. Finally, you'll have complete control over your own voids, refunds, and exchanges! Process them if you want to as needed depending on your own policies.

Question on: ThunderTix
[How much are credit card fees?](/discussions/fees-204ae29a-d4c1-4582-af5b-182f0522444a)

Fees

Credit card processing fees vary by company, but you can expect to pay about 2.2-2.5% of each transaction plus a 30 cent transaction fee per order.

Answered: Jacob Migdal on November 30, 2016

The credit card fees vary based on which payment gateway you choose. Options include Stripe, Square, Braintree, Authorize.net, Moneris, and Elavon. Payment gateways like Stripe, Square, and Braintree are all fairly similar in fees charging around 2.9% per transaction and an additional 30c per transaction. However, when you reach higher monthly volume (over $100K), you can usually negotiate the rate down.

Question on: ThunderTix
[Do I have to install software in our box office?](/discussions/installation-69eaef24-6c56-4c4a-8ad7-2378f80e2700)

Installation

ThunderTix is a web-based software. That means you'll have access to your administrative portal from any device connected to the Internet...laptops, tablets, and even your phone. So, there's nothing to install! As long as you have access to a browser and WIFI/cell network, you have access to manage everything within your account.

Answered: Stacy Chapman on April 13, 2023

ThunderTix is an online ticketing software, so only a web browser is needed for secure access to your account or for buyers to purchase tickets from home.
