We expanded to new markets and launched three different Shopify stores for different countries. Creating product listings manually in each separate admin panel was an absolute nightmare. Toriut solved this: we create a single "Master Product" in a unified database, set local prices and descriptions, and then publish them to all connected stores with a couple of clicks. A huge lifesaver is the Drafts feature. We prepare global sales in advance, change product prices, save them as drafts, and on launch day, we just hit one button, and the updates go live across all storefronts.

We've been using Pics.io since 2020. We signed up on their microplan and overall it worked. Initially, you had to tag things manually, but it was cumbersome, so our team moved away from it. The big benefit was that it's built on Google Drive, so you can get very inexpensive storage and use Pics.io on top of it. If Google doesn't generate a thumbnail, then Pics.io doesn't have a thumbnail either. Now Pics.io has the ability to create thumbnails manually. So I asked them if they could add an automated feature, because the software is capable of doing so. They told me they could do it if I would pay for it out of pocket, but then the feature would be available for every other customer too. Other features that we asked for, they implemented after years, and by that time we'd found alternative workflows around the issues we had initially. Lately, they've tried to upsell us constantly on their own storage service versus Google, but it costs roughly a hundred times more than what we're paying right now with Google. They offer lots of features, but with many of them, you can tell that they were just created by developers, not by actual users. For example, they introduced a feature whereby you can make annotations and notes in videos, which is supposed to help video editors and reviewers get something out faster. The problem was it was so cumbersome, and every step required so many clicks that it took up four times as much time as doing it in Vimeo, for example. They also provide AI features, like transcribing the videos you have in the library, but these services are extremely expensive, and you can get this for free now on YouTube and many other places, so be prepared to overpay. Another important thing to notice too is that whenever you sign up for a plan, you're only signing up for the current feature set—new features are only available if you sign up for their new, more expensive plans. They don't grandfather you in. What's even funnier is there's no technical limitation to giving you those features—it's just their decision not to provide them to you. Here is what they said in an email: "Just to clarify, we can manually enable newer features on legacy accounts when needed, for example to let customers test them, as we’ve done here. However, new features are generally released as part of our current plans and aren’t automatically added to legacy plans. Legacy plans remain on their existing feature set for that reason." Their support is responsive, but they often don't really understand the issue and can be rather complicated in addressing it. It always turns into a long back and forth. If they finally comprehend and understand the issue, it takes months, if not years, to fix them. In rare cases, they also do it more quickly.
