Being able to record interviews and evaluate against standardised scorecards has been very helpful. It allows for a far more consistent evaluation process across different hiring managers.<br><br>The part I did not expect is that the criteria stay fixed while the conversation does not. Every candidate is assessed against the same rubric, but the questions follow what the person actually says rather than running down a list. That is the difference between a structured interview and a script.<br><br>We find the shortlisting logic fairly accurate for the roles we are hiring for at the moment.

The outreach automation and the scheduling links are the features we rely on most. They have essentially removed the manual effort involved in coordinating initial calls.<br><br>The scheduling piece is ordinary in a good way. Candidates pick a slot, the calendar updates, nobody chases a reply. What matters more is that the outreach sequences keep running in the background while we work on other roles.

What stood out over time is the scouting. It is not a search box where you rebuild the same filters for every role. As we use it and make decisions, the results move closer to the profiles we normally pay attention to. That has mattered most on harder roles, where the right person is not obvious from a title or a few keywords. We have found people we would not have surfaced ourselves, and it got better as it saw more of how we work. The rest helps too. Once someone looks interesting we move into outreach, scheduling and interviews without losing the context from the original search, which Ashby never managed on its own.
