I had to learn Maya for a job teaching it; although I came from a different 3D backgroundsp ecifically Blender I was impressed by how intuitive the creation process was. It’s a program with a unique pipeline that any 3D artist would find enjoyable. The modeling tools are so comprehensive that the workflow feels genuinely user-friendly, and the Arnold renderer and material system work seamlessly. I find it particularly great for hard-surface modeling that seems to be where it really shines. What I loved most is that tasks which often seem difficult in other programs like beveling, separating vertices, edges, and faces, or managing edge loops offer a multitude of control options, allowing you to achieve complex results with just a simple click.

I think the coolest part of Autodesk Forma is that I can use any address on the map, anywhere in the world, to add buildings and plan sites for construction and design. Another great thing is its capability for 3D model import/export from third party apps. I can export models from Fusion, AutoCAD, or Revit, which I find really useful because I prefer using my own models. Additionally, being able to run simulations on Forma is a significant plus. The platform helps unify and bring my ideas to life when I have built models to scale from CAD software, enabling better collaboration and effective analysis of various building sites. Also, the initial setup was pretty easy- it guides you through the way.

Incredible Performance for Massive 3D Files with Seamless Integrations
My favorite part is its incredible performance when opening massive 3D files without crashing, along with the smooth integrations that make it easy to bring models from different software into one place and combine them seamlessly. Its UI and tabs are also very simple to understand.
