We're a team of 6 and have been using Assembla since 2022 for our git repositories and ticket tracking. Before this we used IssueView for tickets, and the move to Assembla was a major improvement. The tickets themselves are the strongest part for us. You can create custom tracking fields, link tickets to each other, and set up ticket hierarchies, which makes it easy to break bigger work into smaller pieces without losing the connection between them. Being able to link merge requests directly to tickets is a great feature, so the code change and the discussion around it live in the same place. We also use TestRail, and linking test cases and test runs to a ticket keeps QA tied to the work instead of floating off somewhere else. The kanban view is a great way to keep track of workflows and see where every ticket is in its life cycle at a glance. Custom ticket filters let us track new tickets each week for review and see exactly what work remains for upcoming milestones. While Assembla's rich project management, workflow, and ticket retirement features can take first time managers some time to learn and set up, onboarding for developers is relatively easy and day to day use is simple. In the years we've used it I can't recall a single outage.

Repo integrations, ease of use, and configurability are the highlights for me. Other tools often compromise simplicity in favor of configurability, but Assemble doesn’t, and it strikes a great balance between the two.

Ticketing and version control systems are available in one place, which makes it convenient to manage everything together. It performs very well and stays responsive even when handling large amounts of data. The new UI/UX is intuitive and easy to navigate. It has the required integrations which once setup works seemlessly.
