What I find most fascinating about this tool is that we can discover performance issues without modifying the code through the use of code profilers, which are used by developers. It's very easy to use. Start YourKit and it will display a list of currently running java processes to attach to requiring zero effort. The profiler can quickly give you an overview of common java runtime issues including memory leaks, distribution of time in function calls, and garbage collection statistics.
