Everything is accessible in one screen; drill down is incredibly simple. I can screenshot graphs for reviews with executives. Working with Yotascale on integrating SaaS data has been very beneficial. Also Yotascale met our need for a simplified chart of account export for the monthly closing process. We really appreciated Yotascale's flexibility in helping us with this report. **What do you dislike about Yotascale?** Our team still needs to do a lot of research in other systems like Datadog or AWS. It would be nice to have all the relevant information in Yotascale to make determination of optimizations. Engineers love their data. **What problems is Yotascale solving and how is that benefiting you?** Total Cost of Ownership by integrating Cloud Spend with SaaS spend and assigning to products/teams/systems. It is able to attribute compute usage with other components in AWS. **What do you dislike about Yotascale?** When we first started building out our environment we purchased a hand full of Reserved Instances but after some time AWS introduced Savings Plans. Savings Plans allowed us to be more flexible with the different ec2 types. However yotascale did not support Saving Plans at the beginning which made it difficult to visualize our costs. Yotascale did work to get this added to their platform and has since been great. **Recommendations to others considering Yotascale:** Must have billing Tags preset and configured. **What problems is Yotascale solving and how is that benefiting you?** We need to know the cost footprint of all our AWS components. Without easy-to-understand grouping that works out of the box and filtering that allows fine-tuning and in-depth analysis, managers wouldn't be able to make realistic estimations for their future needs. Yotascale is the perfect tool for the job. One of the functionalities I like the most is generating sharable links for future periods with a specific set of filters, allowing me to develop "cost-effectiveness" reports at the beginning of the month, which, if accessed later, lead to the most updated data available without the need of modification. **What do you dislike about Yotascale?** Creation of shareable content can be expanded and improved: - The number of clicks needed to generate a link can be reduced to 1, instead of 2. - Sharing specific graphs over specific time periods and embedded them into popular documentation sources (google docs, confluence, wordpress, etc) could be useful. - Making the URLs shareable as one traverses filters could ease and improve how people communicate informaition sources in the platform. **What problems is Yotascale solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our cost-efficiency goal (target + metric) monitoring depends on Yotascale reporting and accuracy. I have noticed the usability of the app allows me to work faster. We were able to do a POC and explore the product with our own data, which made the purchasing decision that much easier. **What do you dislike about Yotascale?** The definitions of what business contexts costs should be allocated to can only be configured via an API. For us, that wasn't a problem, but there were times where it would have been nice to be able to make quick changes in the UI. Fortunately, the Yotascale team has it on their roadmap to incorporate that functionality. **What problems is Yotascale solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are trying to both create transparency on the cloud cost front and identify actionable insights on how to optimize our costs. **Official Response from Julie Herd:** > Thanks for the great feedback! It helps me see where our costs are increasing and try to get ahead of things running over budget. **What do you dislike about Yotascale?** I don't love the tooltip on the budget and forecasting chart. It tends to regularly cover a meaningful part of the chart when I am grabbing screenshots for reports. **What problems is Yotascale solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are attempting to curb overspending in the cloud. It gives a clear understanding of utilization by division and helps us in drilling down into the usage. Improved Multi-cloud support will be beneficial.
