"Intuitive, Fast, and Customizable HCM Solution"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Workday HCM?

I use Workday HCM as the primary place to capture and retain employee information, and I love how it serves as a source of truth for both employees and admins. The system is intuitive and runs very quickly, making it pleasant to navigate. I really appreciate its organized nature, where key information is available on the homepage and other details are neatly placed in submenus. The level of customization is impressive, and despite its simplicity, the amount of data and options available is incredible. Another feature I value is its seamless integration with other modules, especially how position management and job profile structures are incorporated into individual employee profiles. This makes it easier for recruiters to do their job and for me to track and replace roles efficiently. Tasks are easy to access and review without the need to load separate tools. The initial setup was fast and smooth, which was a huge relief. Overall, it's a solid system that has made managing employee information much simpler for me. What do you dislike about Workday HCM?

Honestly there's little that's wrong with it, it constantly improves little by little with the 2 major releases a year Workday does. Maybe my only gripe is user related and a preference, the times when you change options it's a search box that doesn't run smoothly or quickly. Should be easier ways to select more options at once. In sub menus for search, hitting CTRL and A does work, but not in all screens. A quick example I can think of is when doing security role management, if I copy another user's roles to another person, I have to manually select each role I do or don't want, no quick way to do it sadly. "Seamless Compensation Management with Intuitive Updates"
5/5
What do you like best about Workday HCM?

I like the entirety of Workday HCM. It's very easy to use and makes processes smooth and efficient. I appreciate the ease with which I can approve offers since the system automatically pulls all the necessary information like the hiring group, manager, salary grade, and salary range, consolidating everything on one page. This makes the approval process much simpler. I like the quickness of submitting onetime payments, which are straightforward. Creating job profiles is also super straightforward. The system's layout is intuitive and clear, and I never have trouble finding anything. It's also very helpful for compensation changes, with everything laid out nicely, so I always know where to go for specific tasks like job changes or salary adjustments. It's an intuitive tool that helps with my day-to-day work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Workday HCM?

The only thing that can be a little tricky is when downloading the Excel version of a report. There are some files that are rather large, and it makes sense that it takes a little bit longer. However, due to their magnitude, it can take five minutes to download. Sometimes, if I am downloading a larger file and then another file that coincides with it, it will delay that file. If the download speed could be quicker, it would make my work a bit easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Comprehensive HR Suite, But Clunky Navigation, Lag Hold It Back"
2.5/5
What do you like best about Workday HCM?

I've used Workday across various US companies I've worked for - Visa, LinkedIn, Confluent, Worldpay.

Comprehensive features. Covers everything within the HR/Talent lifecycle stack. Anything that I need to input or find (e.g. taking leave, checking days of leave left, salary etc.) can be done in a single portal.

Typically integrated to many tools like payroll, compensation and benefits etc. so it is easy to get a view of things.

Onboarding typically done in background so fuss-free as a new employee.

Not sure about Pricing as I am not privy to it. AI features are not available/not made known so I don't know. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Workday HCM?

- Extremely difficult to navigate. The portal also often has bugs and is laggy. I find it very difficult to use as a portal in general.

- Sometimes not every tool is available in Workday as employer use other tools (e.g. payroll) so I have to navigate out of it.

- Clunky UI/UX feeling due to drop-down boxes and lack of auto-fill feature. Does not feel smooth or fast.

- I don't know how much they pay for this, but I feel it is probably going to be expensive. ROI-wise likely more valuable for admin than users like myself.

- AI or Intelligence features I don't even know if any are available. Would be great if they are any that I could use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"All My HR Tasks in One Slick Workday HCM Platform"
3/5
What do you like best about Workday HCM?

I use Workday HCM for all of my people-related tasks. This includes reviewing my salary information and the personal details my workplace has access to. As part of my monthly and quarterly reviews, I also use Workday’s platform to submit my updates and discuss them with my people leader. I can review my manager’s feedback through the platform as well, and I can request feedback from peers and other stakeholders to support my overall performance and development. Submitting holiday requests and processing any sickness paperwork is also done via Workday. Having everything in one slick UI makes my day-to-day life much easier, because I don’t have to worry about finding different systems to complete my HR-related tasks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Workday HCM?

One of my main dislikes about Workday is its occasionally clunky UI design. In my role, the sections of Workday I need to interact with are hidden within several tiers of menus, which can be fiddly and time-consuming when I’m trying to complete my tasks.

As part of my role, I also use Workday as an expense hub. While it’s convenient to have this within the same system, the expense hub UI isn’t very user-friendly. The process is broken down into multiple stages, but the steps aren’t very clear and could really do with simplification. Making the expense-claim flow easier and clearer would help both employees submitting claims and the business, especially when it comes to reporting for accountancy.

Workday (or at least the package our business has) doesn’t include any AI, and integrating a large language model could help address the shortfalls I’ve mentioned above. There also doesn’t seem to be a significant integrations suite within our Workday package, and offering more bolt-on integrations could help cover some of the current gaps in the overall Workday setup. "Workday HCM Makes Goals, Expenses, and Feedback Surveys Easy"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Workday HCM?

As a manager, Workday HCM has a lot of useful features such as ability to do expense reporting, set and track goals, track payroll, and review employee feedback surveys. The interface in particular for feedback surveys is good because it breaks it down into clear segments to focus on and also is starting to add AI features to help summarise a lot of comments quickly, which is really helpful for large teams. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Workday HCM?

I think that the integration with our wider company software is lacking, particularly payroll. We use it to track and budget expenses but the output is still very manual as at the end of the day it gets exported to an Excel doc that we have to then reconcile every budget year. I'd prefer it if everything was on one dashboard. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Centralized Workday—Easy Task, Document, and Service Management"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Workday HCM?

Everything is centralized in one app, which makes it easy to complete tasks, follow up, and manage my work and documents in one place. It also supports customers by sending reminders ahead of activity deadlines and providing clear instructions. On top of that, it offers multiple communication and support options for customers, which helps keep things moving. I use Workday every day to manage both my full-time and part-time jobs, and I really appreciate being able to integrate different services into a single place within Workday. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Workday HCM?

Until now, I have not faced any activities that are not possible in Workday, so I like this ability. Price is also reasonable. Works will run smoothly, it is good to contribute with AI options. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful All-in-One HR Platform with Great Analytics, but a Steep Learning Curve"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Workday HCM?

What I like best about Workday HCM is how it brings core HR processes, payroll, talent management, and reporting into a single, centralized platform. Having everything connected in one system makes employee data easier to manage and significantly reduces manual work across HR operations.

One of the most valuable features for our team is the reporting and analytics capability. The customizable dashboards and real-time reporting help leadership make faster, data-driven decisions without relying heavily on spreadsheets or separate reporting tools. The self-service functionality has also improved the employee experience by allowing staff to easily update personal information, access pay details, request time off, and complete performance tasks without HR intervention.

From a UI/UX perspective, the platform is generally intuitive once users are familiar with it, and the mobile app makes it convenient for employees and managers to complete tasks on the go. Workday’s integration capabilities are another major strength, especially when connecting with payroll, finance, recruiting, and third-party business systems. This has helped streamline workflows and reduce duplicate data entry.

Performance-wise, the system is reliable and scales well for larger organizations with complex HR needs. I also appreciate the continuous product updates and innovation, particularly around AI-driven insights, workforce planning, and automation features that help improve efficiency and visibility into talent trends.

Although implementation can require a significant investment of time and resources, the long-term ROI comes from improved process standardization, automation, and reduced administrative overhead. Workday’s support resources, training materials, and onboarding documentation have also been helpful in driving adoption across teams. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Workday HCM?

One downside of Workday HCM is that while the platform is very powerful, some areas can feel overly complex and require a significant learning curve, especially for new administrators or occasional users. Certain workflows and configurations are not always intuitive, and simple changes can sometimes require multiple steps or specialized knowledge.

The reporting tools are robust, but creating advanced custom reports can be time-consuming without proper training. From a UI/UX perspective, some users find navigation less streamlined than expected, particularly when moving between modules or trying to locate specific tasks quickly. The number of clicks required for certain actions can impact efficiency.

Another challenge is that implementations and system updates can require substantial planning and internal resources. Organizations may need dedicated Workday specialists or external consultants to fully optimize the platform, which can increase overall costs. While integrations are generally strong, configuring and maintaining integrations with third-party systems can occasionally be complex and require technical expertise.

Performance is usually reliable, but some users experience slower load times during high-volume reporting or large data processing tasks. Additionally, because Workday is highly configurable, maintaining consistency across business processes and security roles can become difficult in larger organizations.

Pricing can also be a concern for smaller or mid-sized companies, as licensing, implementation, and ongoing support costs may be higher compared to some competing HR platforms. While customer support and documentation are helpful overall, response times for more complex issues can vary depending on the severity and support tier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Efficient HR Management with Diverse Features"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Workday HCM?

I find Workday HCM easy to use with a lot of diverse functions all in one place. It helps me be more efficient because I can clearly see what I need to be doing next and where our candidate is in the hiring process. Plus, it supports my needs outside of hiring, addressing my personal needs as an employee, which is really great. The initial setup was very easy, which was a relief. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Workday HCM?

I feel like there are so many layers to Workday HCM that I definitely do not know everything there is to know about it, and I'm not sure where to even start to learn. When I have tried to do a little digging and learning on my own, I had no idea what I was doing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Workday HCM Makes Payroll, Scheduling, and Onboarding Seamless"
5/5
What do you like best about Workday HCM?

Workday HCM is incredible and helps me manage everything to do with my employees in one place! With the ability to do payroll and and manage the employees scheduling and clock in it makes it beyond easy to use so that everything can be in one convenient place! The UI is so amazing and it makes it so seamless and easy. Especially since you don't need to explain anything to new onboarding employees. It all handles itself! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Workday HCM?

The one thing I dislike about Workday HCM is that it has pretty limited customization. It would be nice if they allowed you to customize the entirety of the website but unfortunately it limits you to what you can customize. I believe every employee should be able to customize their screen to their choosing especially since they have to work with it everyday and it basically becomes apart of their daily routine. Something like this can go a long way to help new employees with troubling interface problems and even just boost overall moral well being because you get to look at something you feel like you had a hand in! Besides that I actually love using this and wouldn't change it for anything! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Unified HR Data, But a Steep Learning Curve and Clunky Search"
3/5
What do you like best about Workday HCM?

What I appreciate most is the unified data architecture. Having HR, payroll, and talent management all in one place eliminates the need for messy integrations. It ensures that when a change is made to an employee record, it reflects across every module instantly, which drastically reduces data entry errors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Workday HCM?

The platform has a steep learning curve for new administrators. Because it is so highly configurable, the initial setup and ongoing maintenance require specialized knowledge or expensive consultants. For casual users, the search functionality can sometimes be non-intuitive, requiring multiple clicks to find relatively simple tasks or documents. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
