You can get started real quick using some of their ready tempates, you have tons of popup triggering and display options, and for wordpress you can set up the popup maker using a simple plugin. There is a free option too. **What do you dislike about Popup Maker?** It works great for a start but when you need a bit more customization, including styling via css, there are some limitations. I also had a popup's stylingdistorted a few times with no obvious reason. **What problems is Popup Maker solving and how is that benefiting you?** Popup maker is a great popup making tool to start with, particularly if you want to experiment with little to no budget. It's very easy to configure and has a clean interface. It doesn't overwhelm with unnecessary options. Triggers and cookie control is very helpful. And there are a lot of targeting options which allow you to target your selected audience very specifically. Like other plugin makers, the developers didn't make the free one unworthy. Another cool feature of this plugin is the built-in analytics. I would say, popup maker is an "evolution slider" of pop-up plugins for wordpress. With that we have many advantages but also couple of huge issues. 1. There is huge functionality hidden under the hood of the plugin which includes: Slide Outs, Banner Bars, Floating Stickies, Notifications, Loading Screens, Video Lightboxes, and of course, Opt-In Forms. 2. There is an option to extend the plugin for even greater functionality and make it just perfect for your site. This are the features included in payed version: Exit Intent AJAX Login Modals Age Verification Modals Popup Analytics Advanced Targeting Conditions Most of those features are not needed for simple project, but might save your time if you are aiming towards great platform functionality. **What do you dislike about Popup Maker?** Just as because I was praising plugin for it's functionality and robust features, I also would like to emphasize that this plugin might be just TOO MUCH. As with Evolution Slider, this is a huge tool and in most cases where a simple solution is needed - this would work perfectly, but also add a lot to server workload and slow down your site. I would suggest testing and looking for lighter solutions if you need something for a simple corporate site. **Recommendations to others considering Popup Maker:** I can tell that popup team created great tool, and also they have done some work to adjust it for smaller projects. I wonder if you have tested it recently for performance issues? In the current version there will only ever be 2 queries run no matter how many popups you have. We statically cache all plugin, extension & settings based script & styles into a single css & js file, no matter how many extensions or popups/themes. You can load 1000 empty popups with minimal page load increase. That said the one place we can't really make improvements directly is if your loading a ton of media in popups on every page. Most people use content from other plugins in their popups such as forms, sliders etc. This means the content needs to be on the page at page load as most of those plugins didn't anticipate loading content on demand in any way, and definitely not in a standardized way. So to be compatible with every plugin imaginable we have to preload the popups in the footer. If you have a lot of media in them, of course this will increase load time. But so would adding image galleries to the page itself :). Just wanted you to know, we are always looking for ways to make the plugin lighter overall, and I hear you loud and clear, so we will keep trying. ### 11. Great tool.
