What do you like best about WakaTime?

When you develop a software as a freelance by remote, usually the client want to know how much you worked on his project or on a specific file during debugging. WakaTime provide to you and your client all the info you need .

WakaTime provide integrations with different IDE, chat and VCS platforms to be able to share software commits with team members. All you need to do is create a WakaTime account and add the required plugin to your IDE.

Usually the plugin begin to track your progresses when the IDE start on a project. The WakaTime website keep track of all your and your team members progresses on projects and files. Provide the total amount of time spend in writing code and daily average time. Provide the chance to share Repo Badges, Charts, Goals and email Reports

What do you dislike about WakaTime?

As freelance I'd like to have the chance to integrate WakaTime with Figma when I develop UI and prototypes. Unfortunately this integration is not yet available also if Figma is now very well popular among developers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

If you need to know how long you have wrote code in the last week on that specific project WakaTime can be useful to you. According to your requirements you should have the option to upgrade it to a Full Personal version or a Team Version. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Automatic time tracking in your favorite IDE"

What do you like best about WakaTime?

I like that WakaTime automatically tracks your time in your IDE, then categorizes it based on language. I can easily see how much time I'm spending on CSS / SASS vs JS as well as how much time I'm spending in each project, or even each IDE. Their dashboard shows you lots of beautiful graphs of stats related to languages, IDE, time and projects (connect to GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket to track commits). Much more granular than a desktop time tracker and you can track your output against goals that you set. Want to code more HAML? You can do that. Want to spend less time in your IDE? What do you dislike about WakaTime?

Their design is starting to look a little dated. The UX is still excellent, and the UI works correctly, but it just looks a little 2015. Which makes sense, since they started before then, but as a designer I always want to see things just a little more modern. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is WakaTime solving and how is that benefiting you?

I'm able to much more accurately track how much time I spend actually coding, versus refactoring or writing user narratives. It just "works"! Does its thing in the background and gives you real-time and meaningful analytics. Integrates nicely. As with all SaaS, you should test and compare at least 2-3 similar service providers. This will give you the insight you need to make an informed decision based on what is right for you. Take advantage of the trials, tutorials, and onboarding assistance. Be sure you are fully ready to commit before full implementation.

I use WakaTime because it gives details about my coding time. I have plugin for Android studio. Wakatime uses awesome UI charts to gives time tracking on a working project.
