## VMmanager Reviews
  ### 1. A reliable KVM-based server virtualization software from ISPsystem

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dmitrii L. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 02, 2020

**What do you like best about VMmanager?**

VMmanager helps us to save money that we spend on IT infrastructure. Instead of having a separate server for every small task, we create virtual machines out of a physical server and run services on them.

I don’t think that we solve some unique problems with VMmanager - we have pretty basic tasks: create VM, install OS, reboot, create a template, monitor resources. But what’s essential for me as a business owner - VMmanager is a convenient, intuitive, and user-friendly. I don’t have to hire a highly professional engineer who can cook an enterprise-level virtualization software. We spend a little on the software itself but save much more on a salary.

**What do you dislike about VMmanager?**

ISPsystem provides solutions that work in one eco-system. We use DCImanager on the physical equipment level, and then VMmanager to work with VMs. My suggestion is to make the integration of these two platforms even more seamless, so we don’t have to switch between two interfaces.

**Recommendations to others considering VMmanager:**

Try the trial version to make a decision

**What problems is VMmanager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We create and manage virtual machines in different clusters from one user-interface. In our case, clusters are different geographical locations since we have an infrastructure in three cities. Besides that, we use:

* Virtual infrastructure monitoring
* Notifications system
* Network management
* Permissions control

  ### 2. Very functional and reliable KVM cluster manager

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pedro D. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about VMmanager?**

The fact VMManager6 isn't cluttered with niche functionalities is a very positive thing.
It's simple, stable and reliable while doing everything what's expected.
Development team is agile (in a good way) and fast.

**What do you dislike about VMmanager?**

User permissions and multitenancy still needs a bit of work.
API documentation is still being worked ok, but support team will give all the information needed to implement it.

**Recommendations to others considering VMmanager:**

Automate what you can.

**What problems is VMmanager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Local storage KVM cluster management.
Allowing us to manage hundreds of local storage VMs very easily and painlessly.

  ### 3. Incredibly fast and intuitive solution for virtualization management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fedor B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 03, 2020

**What do you like best about VMmanager?**

I would like to emphasize the section "Tasks" where you can see the logs. In this section, the panel indicates what has happened, so it is easy for admins to troubleshoot. Everything is displayed right in the interface, quite convenient.

Ceph storage. You can connect Ceph as a network storage, it is a couple of buttons in the interface, and in fact, it is a powerful solution for data storage and high uptime.

Documentation and support at the highest level. These are related services, which are critically important when using the product.

**What do you dislike about VMmanager?**

It is hard to answer, we have been using VMmanager for many years, and everything is fine.

**Recommendations to others considering VMmanager:**

It is better to try it once than to read 100 reviews. Just take a free trial version, install it on your equipment and try working with it as if you have it in production. The trial version has no resource limits, so you can test anything and in any quantity.

If there is no time or free equipment, I recommend that you see their documentation https://docs.ispsystem.com/vmmanager-admin and the video at the website https://www.ispsystem.com/software/vmmanager.

**What problems is VMmanager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

VMmanager automates all our routine tasks: checking servers, creating VPS, installing OS and scripts, providing access to clients, collecting statistics, creating backups, etc. This saves our employees time and avoids human error.

VMmanager works incredibly fast, virtual machines are created in 2-3 minutes. Astonishing! And thanks to its architecture the product copes with processing of data from thousands of VM, with no freezing or glitches.

There are dozens of servers and thousands of virtual machines in our fleet. And we manage it all from a single panel. Our clients order VPS for themselves, get their own client access to VMmanager and can perform basic operations themselves. The processes are automated to the maximum, our admins no longer deal with routine tasks, freeing up time for more complicated cases.

  ### 4. Best cost-effective cloud solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aleks 2. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2020

**What do you like best about VMmanager?**

Turnkey cloud management platform that includes both virtualization and billing system with no need to use 3rd party solutions. Licensing model is very attractive compared to any other solutions. Despite a lower cost we’ve actually been very surprised to experience a very professional support with a quick escalation to engineering when needed. Both BillManager and VMManager support have reach API for integration to your site.

**What do you dislike about VMmanager?**

Not necessarily a huge gap, but still IaaS service offering is being in development for quite some time. This is on roadmap for later this year, but no commitment.

**What problems is VMmanager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use VMManager for most of our services including both virtual server sales as well as dedicated servers provisioning.

  ### 5. A good solution for VPS hosting providers

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexander S. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 27, 2019

**What do you like best about VMmanager?**

VMmanager provides an intuitive interface allowing a hosting provider or a cloud provider to create virtual servers for their own use or for clients. Another pro is their flexibility allowing to extend functionality with plugins and extensions.

**What do you dislike about VMmanager?**

Some minor tasks e.g. VMmanager does not support network operations with a few VLANs so we have to use additional tools and solutions for that.

**Recommendations to others considering VMmanager:**

Pay attention to the use of VLANs on your network, as this can be a problem in the initial deployment of VMmanager 5.

**What problems is VMmanager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Another advantage of VMmanager is a possibility to integrate it with BILLmanager billing system. We use it to provide our clients with tools to manage their VPS more flexibly, with minimal costs and so-called human factor.

  ### 6. VMmanager is an excellent solution for managing multiple clusters

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paul P. | Независимый дистрибьютор, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 11, 2019

**What do you like best about VMmanager?**

New cutting-edge UI, intuitive server management, and resource monitoring for each virtual machine or a group of them. Another great features are mass VM cloning and cluster management.

**What do you dislike about VMmanager?**

No management of additional VM interfaces. So far it's not possible to add more VM disks.

**Recommendations to others considering VMmanager:**

Quick and free technical support and integration with billing systems. The latter is very important because you can add and start selling a new service very swiftly with the help of an easy integration between two systems (VMmanager and billing).

**What problems is VMmanager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With this panel, we were able to organize a cluster of servers and start selling virtual machines to clients very quickly.

  ### 7. A great solution for Hosting company

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yurii P. | Prokopyshyn Yurii CEO HyperHost Ltd., Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 03, 2019

**What do you like best about VMmanager?**

Most of all I like the cluster structure of the VMmanager builds and the ability to connect new servers as new nodes and the further distribution between existing VMs nodes.

**What do you dislike about VMmanager?**

I dislike the realization of the backup system:
1)  the lack of customization flexibility;
2) the principle of backup creation ( replication of all containers via the main managing server)

**Recommendations to others considering VMmanager:**

A great solution for people who need to create their projects by using different operating systems. Since VMmanager allows you to install both Linux and Windows on virtual machines, it gives you great opportunities.

**What problems is VMmanager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The task of automatic creating a big number of VPS server with IP allocation from one IP pool between different server was solved by using this system.

  ### 8. A simple solution to start vps-hosting

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Дмитрий . | Dmitry Yuzepchuk, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 09, 2019

**What do you like best about VMmanager?**

It is easy to understand the settings and run the hosting in accordance with the objectives of the business.

**What do you dislike about VMmanager?**

There are small errors, most often we observe when working with nodes - for example, when adding a new one, it is impossible to specify its IP address, and when transferring a virtual server between nodes, its state is incorrectly displayed. We think that in one of the updates the shortcomings will be covered.

**What problems is VMmanager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With the integration of VMmanager with BILLmanager, we provide VPS services for our clients in automatic mode. Tariffs are divided into two lines. In the first one we provide full root-rights. In the second one we take over server administration ourselves, and provide the client with the option of basic settings.

  ### 9. Perfect solution - VMmanager

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Сергей . | Secom Support - System Administration Druids, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 03, 2019

**What do you like best about VMmanager?**

This system attracts with the ability of the adaptation of the business projects, mainly the ability to integrate VMmanager with IPmanager, DNSmanager, and other modules.

**What do you dislike about VMmanager?**

I don't like the way of the OS installation. The installation takes much time. Images of the OS are copied through the main managing server by using the cluster structure.

**Recommendations to others considering VMmanager:**

The perfect solution for companies which is needed to sell VPS in "industrial" scale.

**What problems is VMmanager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The VMmanager helped to create an "independent" automatic system for creating and further managing of VPS using the combination WHMCS + WHMCS VMmanager module + IPmanager + DNSmanager

  ### 10. Excellent equipment manager through a digital server

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Richard Andersons C. | Personal de soporte para TI, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 16, 2019

**What do you like best about VMmanager?**

It streamlines tasks and makes it more complex and easier to use Mysql as an administrator besides being accessible to the search engine from the query query and uses an Oracle database or a MySQL database as the recommended management repository used in the operating system Oracle Linux 5.5.

**What do you dislike about VMmanager?**

Excellent manager but hopefully one day they will take it to the privative software for its use since its best performance and usefulness is done in the software oracle linux but not impossible to use since you must migrate to a computer to use its use

**Recommendations to others considering VMmanager:**

many users do not like linux and its applications but they are recommending both the oracle operating system and its virtual manager application for managing mYsql

**What problems is VMmanager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Take out software for the marketing area where they needed an online database but locally as an intranet to save projects today and yesterday and in that way have a record of everything that is done in the marketing department

  ### 11. Easy-to-use virtualization tool.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rubén L. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 30, 2018

**What do you like best about VMmanager?**

The best thing about this virtualization tool is its ease of use, requiring a very low learning curve, as if you have a slight notion of using this type of tool, you will immediately be able to use it like an expert.

**What do you dislike about VMmanager?**

This tool, not being open source, does not make it easy to develop plugins or functionalities that the user might need. Despite this, on few occasions have I needed something that the tool itself did not already provide.

**Recommendations to others considering VMmanager:**

Highly recommended application for using virtualization environments

**What problems is VMmanager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With this tool, in the company we have been able to manage various environments easily, making the onboarding of new employees require little time to adapt to its use.
