What do you like best about VirusTotal?

-You can check if the files that you downloaded from internet are safe

-It uses a lot of antivirus to check the file

"A great online virus and malware scanner"

What do you like best about VirusTotal?

I like virustotal as a secondary guard against viruses and malware on top of the anti-virus installed on my PC.

You can upload files you receive by email or other sources (even large ones) to the site and it scans it with many up-to-date anti-virus applications. The scanning process is fast and you can see if any of the applications found the uploaded file suspicious.

You can also scan website URL before clicking them to verify that they are safe.

The site user interface is clear and easy to use.

What do you dislike about VirusTotal?

I can't think of too much wrong with this service. There are a few limitations such as only being able to upload a single file at a time and that sometimes there is a queue before your file is being scanned. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering VirusTotal:

This is a must use service in my opinion.

There are Windows and Android apps for this service if you prefer them over using the website directly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is VirusTotal solving and how is that benefiting you?

When you receive files by email or disk-on-key or when you get a link by email it is always a good idea to double check they are not harmful. VirusTotal does exactly that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
