"It's Steam, pretty much all said"

What do you like best?

The store steam offers will always be one of the most completes stores i've ever tried in quite a long time. With the birth and massification of VR a lot of users are trying to get a nice use to their headsets. This all ends really nice in Steam as you get options for both paid and free to try, and being a developer is a good platform to jump on and bring that project you are working right now. Not only works for the hardcore gamers, as it could help in some sort of training and even works for some kind of therapy in some fields-

What do you dislike?

The VR is having it's start right now... this implies many programs or games that aren't that polished and feel quite heavy, sometimes the recognition of actions is not working as intended and making use of this new technology that not much people can access, means the amount of feedback and reviews each of those have is quite limited.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Keep in mind that for the moment, the equipment needed could be expensive for a lot of people or companies, even so, the field is expanding each time a bit more and more, working with simulations for training in workplaces, new gaming ways, new form of comunication, expansion of the inmersion technology. It could be a good idea to be familiarized with it as is starting and not wait until the train is on course to try and jump in

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

As some employees work remotely, with a 360° video VR video conference it solves the assistance problem to them as prevents people from just leaving a call online while not being present.

"An amazing new way to play"

What do you like best?

Virtual reality and the games we have gotten for it through steam VR have been really great to get us moving while playing. It's a whole new way of experiencing a game and it really adds to it. It is also allowing us to create and test our own games on this system.

What do you dislike?

Right now it's still in the early stages so the games can be rather basic and the system has trouble with resolution but it will get there eventually.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Try it out. It will leave you wanting more. I recommend you try Beat Saber with it. And keep an eye out for new games. This is a great option to exercise without leaving the house.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are creating content for VR so in a sense we hope to make some profit out of it. It's a great new field full of possibility. We hope to create some profitable games that will use this Steam option.

What VR Marketplace solution do you use?

Thanks for letting us know!

"Steam Offers a Variety of Games for VR"

What do you like best?

I like how there are several options for games for VR on Steam. Steam makes it easy to download and play the games from your VR system and many of the games are fairly priced, especially since Steam has many of their games on sale.

What do you dislike?

While there is a lot of variety in the games to choose from, the VR is still very new compared to many other gaming consoles that have been around for decades that have had time to perfect their games. There are a few bugs in some of the games I have used and sometimes I have trouble with the VR recognizing my movements in a game.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Be patient with VR since there are some bugs and the setup can take some time to figure out. If you have the opportunity, use your VR system for fun before business to learn how it works.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Some of my colleagues and I use the Vive as a webcam to which we can use for online meetings.

"I love you Valve"

What do you like best?

It is a plattform where you can start something big with low resources.

The tech looks very promising

Valve it's one of those companies that listen to its customers

What do you dislike?

You need an expensive rig to use VR and sometimes you get a little bit dizzy if you play for long periods of time. Since VR in general it's still inmature you can expect weird behaviors.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I think the VR steam can solve a lot of training and education issues and it can be used in classrooms such as job environment simulation

"A Must-Have for VR Adopters"

What do you like best?

Supports Windows-based games and media, runs the Oculus VR interface when you use it and can use SteamVR as an additional interface layer, playing around with Environment is a blast, plenty of potential in creating your own backgrounds/adding new ones through Steam Workshop, lots of customization options, supports 360-degree panoramic photos and video

What do you dislike?

Requires additional monitors for multi-screen display, Wireless adapter is pricey but a game changer, could use more options to support with screen placement and generation, virtual desktops and monitors and the ability to move and resize multiple screens individually

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Contract Quality Assurance work for testers as they evaluate variety of platforms for upcoming projects (PC, console integration). Each set up comes with Desktop gaming rig, Oculus Rift (or HTC Vive)

"Lots of VR content and stable system"

What do you like best?

Steam store is my go to place for game and VR content. You can easily browse their library and find a great amount of free and premium VR games and experiences. Great refund policy if you don't like what you bought. The system is also very stable, providing a great immersive VR experience for people who have a HTC Vive, or a Oculus Rift headset. We, as VR game developers, know Steam VR is the platform we need to put our games on.

What do you dislike?

No, not much. I think it's probably the best VR marketplace for PC users.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We develop VR games and use Steam VR to test our game, as well as find other good VR games for market research purposes.

"Has a variety of VR content"

What do you like best?

I use steam for almost all of my PC gaming needs so having VR content available is amazing. I've used the Oculus Rift headset with the VR games and they work very well together.

What do you dislike?

Since the VR technology is still new, the quality of games are still not the best. However, I see this changing as the technology continues to improve.

Recommendations to others considering the product

VR for steam is still a relatively new implementation, so I think it'll be very useful in the future.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I think the VR on steam can solve a lot of training and education problems. It can be used in classrooms as well as an on the go training program if you're new to a job.

"Great VR Options on a Budget"

What do you like best?

The capability of having VR as an option to train in is amazing! There are often work-safety situations that can be hard to train and prepare for without visual aids. VR makes this capable.

What do you dislike?

Quality of many VR experiences at this point are not great. Since the tech is new and the usage is minimal at this point the time and money has not been invested yet for high quality graphics or motion detection.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Don't expect too much at this point--the images for work VR are often boxy, slow, and sparce. While VR does help with training, it does not fully provide a perfect environment to train in since movement of object and viewing 3D spaces can be glitchy and non-fluid. The potential of the tech is obvious but the delivery is still in development.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Travelling to and working in a hard to reach place, dangerous situation, or simulation. Working in a utility industry, Steam VR has provided a great option of using simulations to help industry workers learn and understand how systems work and how to be safe within those systems.

"VR games the best"

What do you like best?

Steam is full of amazing games for virtual reality. I enjoy the wide variety of games to get. The price is ok for some games.

What do you dislike?

Some of the games are not worth the price.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I have allowed my employees to play VR games during slow times and also on breaks. Allows better hand eye corrdination. They are also more relaxed. Resulting in harder working staff.

También puedes guardar tus partidas online.

"Esperienza innovativa!"

What do you like best?

Si tratta di una tecnologia nuova e dalle infinite applicazioni, in grado di coinvolgere completamente l'utente e immergerlo nell'ambiente dello sviluppatore.

What do you dislike?

In alcuni casi si tratta di una tecnologia in fase primordiale, con tutti i difetti dovuti alla sua natura di prodotto ancora acerbo.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Permette una maggiore immersività in giochi utilizzati con scopo riabilitativo.

"The future of VR is here"

What do you like best?

Using VR on steam is very easy and is pretty much dummy proof. Its so simple and that makes it very fun to use.

What do you dislike?

Certain games don't have flawless VR integration and can seem low quality.

Recommendations to others considering the product

It's good, especially if you are not very tech savvy.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Recommendations to others considering the product

To let it some time to improve, because it will, slowly

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

"Steam VR with Occulus Go, The Future of Edu.?"

What do you like best?

I like the push to introduce virtuality and PC gaming into mainstream culture. It has a lot of potential particularly in the field of education

What do you dislike?

I was testing oculus go on an App Called Big Screen via steam. The platform is extremely glitchy and almost unusable

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Again, I see the field of social vr crossing into education as a means of connecting with students Nationally and internationally.

"Excellent software and games"

What do you like best?

They have a great selection of games and software that allows us to learn new things in new ways. Their software allowed us, both teacher and student to immerse ourselves in whatever we were learning and it allowed students to become very interested in subjects that we were learning.

What do you dislike?

Sometimes the software can be full of glitches but altogether it's an excellent product. The virtual reality itself was slow and stuttered sometimes but that might be expected in a newer technology.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We were able to learn and play with immersion and with a new perspective. Altogether great technology

"Personal and Commercial friendly"

What do you like best?

We used this software for our VR arcade. I liked that there was an abundance of game options. I also felt like it was pretty user friendly. While we were a VR arcade, some of our employees weren’t super familiar with Steam and yet we’re able to quickly figure it out.

What do you dislike?

Customer service isn’t the greatest. Sometimes we would sit on the phone for over an hour just to get someone to even hear our question.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We were able to set up separate steam accounts for each station but still have them under one “commercial account” as well.

"Cool, but could use some work "

What do you like best?

The realism and the feeling, it feels immersive with newer graphics that games have allowed at this time with a 1080+ card

What do you dislike?

The optimization , needs work, the fact it can't get running on a 965M seems like an issue, especially on VR games that aren't heavily graphical

"Solid for developers & gamers alike"

What do you like best?

As a leading gaming platform it's no surprise that support for VR is high quality and intuitive for users. Developers also don't have a tough time submitting VR games for the platform, at least not relative to "regular" non-VR games.

What do you dislike?

There can always be room for improvement, it would be great if Steam supported more headsets than just the HTC Vive.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Business problems? Maybe none, but developing VR games for that platform is considered "a business", not really a problem that needs solving per se.

"Limited Application "

What do you like best?

Shows potential, but isn't really scalable to the needs of our university or teaching environment.

What do you dislike?

The level of investment required to get significant classroom participation is prohibitive.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Perhaps attempt other AR assisted learning environments first - if one wants to implement this in a classroom situation, a much broader range of accessibility options will be required, and the basic hardware requirements will need to be streamlined.
