Underleaf Reviews & Product Details

Underleaf is an AI-powered LaTeX and academic document platform used by 50,000+ researchers, professors, and students across 200+ universities, including Stanford, MIT, Berkeley, and Harvard. For institutions, Underleaf provides managed digitization services that convert legacy archives - handwritten manuscripts, scanned PDFs, course materials, and historical research collections - into clean, compile-ready LaTeX and Typst at 98%+ equation accuracy. University libraries, research labs, government economists, and academic publishers use these engagements to make decades of unstructured material searchable, editable, accessible, and publication-ready. Hundreds of thousands of pages have been processed to date. For departments and research groups, Underleaf Teams offers centralized billing, admin dashboards, licensing, and seat management, so faculty and graduate researchers can work from their dedicated institutional account instead of scattered individual subscriptions. The core platform converts images, PDFs, spreadsheets, and diagrams into LaTeX, TikZ, and Typst; generates abstracts and academic prose; searches the arXiv corpus for citations with BibTeX export; and includes 15+ free research tools. A browser-based editor and Chrome extension let teams adopt Underleaf inside their existing workflow with no migration or local install. Custom deployments and volume pricing available for universities, labs, and enterprise research organizations.
