What do you like best about Thunkable?

I like that almost everything can be made, sometimes you need to be a bit creative to achieve it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Thunkable?

Some functions need third part subscriptions, which can destroy an idea. Like not being able to upload images to own server, but can only be achieved by using Cloudinary which is a rather expensive service. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Thunkable?

Thunkable-X is the COMPLETE tool:

It's very easy to learn

The same app can be downloaded for iOS, Android and web

It has both the screen design and code behind functions

The code behind is done with blocks

Different screen sizes can be set at design time

Responsive screens can be designed

Dynamic components can be created at run time

Incremental development and testing is very easy.

Code changes are immediately reflected in the target system

Millions of MIT AI2 users can switch to Thunkable for iOS and web app support.

It has built in interfaces to other modern tools like Realtime DB etc.

What do you dislike about Thunkable?

Not possible to make extensions

Not frequent random crashes

Lack of some mathematical functions

Lack of a backpack for copying code between projects

What do you like best about Thunkable?

Thunkable helps to quickly design and demo real apps, using Cloud services : less than two hours may be sufficient to have secured user sign in, Cloud storage, camera and other phone services integration and even push to phones or app stores. Both for iOS and Android at the same times. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Thunkable?

Many extensions are not yet available compared to their previous version.

Documentation and community may still refer to the Classic version who has been halted, and it is frustrating.

Additional components available for the full paid version is not clear enough. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Thunkable:

Give it a try, spend two hours by yourself designing screens. Have a look to cloud services that helps with authentications, storage, translation and so on. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Thunkable solving and how is that benefiting you?

For many projects, a working MVP is better than a prototype or complex mock-ups. Using Thunkable is sufficient to get feedbacks from users in less than one day, and may last for weeks before having to switch complex projects to coded features. And many projects may be kept in production as Thunkable apps.

Compared to rapid prototyping solutions, Thunkable goes one step further, with iOS and Android app stores deployment so it can be presented to users and customers.

Since standard services are used (Firebase, Cloudinary, ...) the user data may be reused in legacy web apps. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Thunkable?

I love the Web API component to connect with 3rd party APIs with ease. and the Data List/Grid components makes life so easy to integrate and with link with Data sources like Airtable, Google sheets and local tables in a jiffy!! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Thunkable?

I think Date handling is still primitive and difficult to do handle need more blocks for that. Database Querying can be improved. Capability to send auto emails/sms to selected users of the App by the App admin would be great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
