## Telestream Reviews
 ### 1. Powerful, Reliable Platform for Large-Scale Video Workflow Automation

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Oil & Energy | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Telestream?**

The best thing about this platform is that it excels in handling complex video workflows at larger scale. This platform also offers powerful cloud-based encoding and transcoding capabilities. This platform is also highly reliable and production-ready. The best thing out there is its ability to automate larger volumes of media processing without losing or compromising on any quality. This platform makes the broadcast, OTT and media-heavy operations very effective.

**What do you dislike about Telestream?**

This platform feels a bit complex, specifically for media or any video processing background. Also, their pricing is on a larger scale for a smaller team for experimentation. Their user interface also should be more intuitive, in certain workflows and configurations.

**What problems is Telestream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Telestream helps me by solving the problem of managing the large-scale video processing and along with delivery workflows. It helps me with automating encoding and transcoding processes and making consistent video quality across all formats. It also helps me in reducing manual interventions in all types of media workflows. Overall, this platform provides and enables faster content delivery. Overall, this improves our operational efficiency and scalability for our business.

 ### 2. Reliable, but complicated media processing.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matthew W. | Co-Founder & Marketing Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 24, 2024

**What do you like best about Telestream?**

The Vantage Platform has fantastic scalability and is almost comprehensive. Cloud-based services excel and make the workflow less reliant on hardware, which is essential for remote media teams.

**What do you dislike about Telestream?**

The learning curve is steep, making it hard to use for the smaller teams it seems to be tailored to. The interface is dated and the onboarding and tutorials could be so much better.

**What problems is Telestream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Telestream is the best product I'm aware of for handling large-scale media workflows efficiently. Vantage allows us to transcode videos, analyze content, and manage metadata, while minimizing manual intervention. The cloud-based platforms provide the flexibility needed for remote collaboration across teams in different locations.

**Reviewed Date:** July 05, 2021

**What do you like best about Telestream?**

**What do you dislike about Telestream?**

Pricing, need to lower the price for transcode platform.
Vid-checker features need be at par with competition i.e. Baton
More training to partners may be helpful
Avid & Interplay integration pricing needs amendment, should need to be less costly to expand market presence

**What problems is Telestream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Transcoding, re-wrapping

 ### 5. Editing and screen recording software good enough for newbies

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tawanna B. | Business Owner, Professional Training & Coaching, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2018

**What do you like best about Telestream?**

The user interface is very clean and simple. The learning curve for Telestream's Screenflow product is relatively low. The price is very competitive compared to other editing software. If you want to add on additional items like transition packs and motion graphics, you can at an extra cost instead of it automatically being built into the cost of the software. The team there also has someone do demos on Facebook Live at least once a month. This helps to see the pros in action, explaining the features.

**What do you dislike about Telestream?**

I dislike annual updates with charges for each update. I'd much rather the product was price accordingly and updated without extra charge to the customer.

**Recommendations to others considering Telestream:**

Take the trial period and plug into the online Facebook community for ongoing tutorials. Be mindful that the annual upgrades are not free. However, weigh that against the fact that the software is less than a lot of other editing software on the market, in particular companies like Final Cut Pro.

**What problems is Telestream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Screen recording and video editing complexities. Telestream's Screenflow saves time trying to figure out editing software which tends to be complicated for beginner editors who just want basic editing capabilities.

 ### 6. Good solution for transcoding videos

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Georges R. | Ingénieur informaticien, Internet, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 30, 2018

**What do you like best about Telestream?**

With Telestream, we can stream and get a very good high definition video. I can stream from where I am to the world. This is very safe and easy to use, there is also a lot of product for transcoding, so everyone can use Telestream, à very good product.

**What do you dislike about Telestream?**

The only one thing I dislike is when you want to stream, verify your connexion is good, because if there is a lot of people in your connexion, you'll get a lot of lags during the stream.

**Recommendations to others considering Telestream:**

If you want to use Telestream, don't forget to check if your internet connexion is stable, thé you can stream without lagging. I recommend this for everyone who want to stream.

**What problems is Telestream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can present products to our clients directly from my company, this is better and faster than if the client have to come in my company for watch the product.

 ### 7. Telestream for Network Security

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Food & Beverages | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2018

**What do you like best about Telestream?**

Telestream is tool that allows Network Administrators and Information Security Personnel to monitor, record, audit, and analyze digital video information from desktop screens.

Telestream has an easy to use interface, minimal CPU utilization, bulk data encoding, and multiple file format capabilities.

**What do you dislike about Telestream?**

Telestream is unable to automatically detect the resolution of the screen you are recording. By default, Telestream will record all screens in 1920x1080, which is fine for business use, but it will give you black bars on the sides of videos recorded from lower-resolution screens.

The only other complaint I have of Telestream is the initial cost. While we were offered a sizeable discount due to our company size, the initial cost made it difficult to convince our C-level executives that this software solution would fit our needs. The ROI time is estimated to be 54 months.

**Recommendations to others considering Telestream:**

Download their free trial and start with a small sample of machines. Telestream scales very easily and you will be able to deploy it among your entire company using the same license key as the preliminary order.

They offer a plethora of software solutions. Specifically, Screenflow is the easiest to scale as it is simple to setup on end machines and port-forward for network capabilities.

**What problems is Telestream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Telestream is used for end user audits. Telestream allows IT Managers to monitor all business users' screens at any time. This is used for auditing and time keeping purposes.

Additionally, I have used Telestream to record and encode a variety of user screens for investigative purposes.
