What do you like best about Tabs3 Software?

My firm and I have used TABS for 25+ years, and I find it easy to navigate once you understand the ins and outs. There’s a vast array of reports and different ways to view your data and billing—some I’ve probably never even tapped into—but everything is just a keystroke away. Setting up matters is straightforward, and it conveniently defaults to the last setting used. Every time I call Customer Support, my issue gets resolved, and I always end up thinking I should have called sooner. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tabs3 Software?

I don’t like that the statement options are tied to the matter screen. For example, we list INITIAL, INTERIM & FINAL on all our statements, and we have to change that on the matter screen. Once you change it, all reprinted statements are marked with whatever the last Phase was that you entered on the matter screen.

Also, in General Ledger (when you enter a check), it would be really helpful if you could copy and paste. When you have an entry with multiple accounts where the cost will be split up, you add the accounts (or they are autopopulated from the last check) and then you should be able to split the amount evenly across the accounts by highlighting them and copying and pasting. You can’t do that there—you have to click into each account and enter the amount manually. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Tabs3 Software?

I am currently the Business Office Manager for a law firm that uses Tabs3 software. I have used many accounting software packages and this one has been my favorite so far. I find the software is very easy to use, I like how it is designed, and the customer service is exceptional. In my position, I use Tabs billing, AP, Trust, and the GL heavily. I also use the Taskbill module to bill a few of my clients. We use Papercut to track our printing costs and TABs supports integration with that product as well. If you are looking for an ERP that does it all; Tabs3 is the answer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Since you mentioned the company’s desire to always improve our software, I have one that I would like to make you aware of! In Version 2026 we’re adding the ability to configure clients with an Autopay feature that will automatically pay up to 100% of the balance due for a matter after each statement has been final billed and updated.

What do you like best about Tabs3 Software?

I find Tabs3 Software very user-friendly and easy to navigate, even with their new and improved processes. It was straightforward to get back into using it after years away, and I was able to pick it up and develop good questions for support's direction. The support team is incredibly helpful; they really listen and understand before guiding through any issues. I appreciate how the software does just about everything we need for our small law firm, from time and billing, to managing complex receipt allocations. It keeps everything neat, organized, and easy to follow. We're also exploring the CRM features, which I believe will provide better structure for our business development efforts. What do you dislike about Tabs3 Software?

Integration between modules, but I believe it may be having to do with the way we've been historically set up. When it comes to integration for the A/R and the A/P into the GLS system. This is an issue that I'm facing with the software, but I believe it is because of the way it was set up decades ago. It is not necessarily a problem with the software. What do you like best about Tabs3 Software?

It is stable and intuitive. The installation and set-up were truly quite easy. Getting new users on board and familiar with the product is really very simple. The few times in 20+ years I have required support, they have been excellent. There are a variety of modules (billing, financial, practice management) and they play well together. It is very straightforward in exporting data for other applications such as Excel. I use it daily in all aspects of my job. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tabs3 Software?

The updates are too frequent and can be a bit clunky. The owners have begun a bit of a hard sell on other products and seem to be jumping on the dreaded AI bandwagon. What do you like best about Tabs3 Software?

Customer support is top-notch when you need it, which is rare! The software is intuitively setup to make your user experience more productive. In addition, the software assists you in having a clean account. The ability to email statements directly within the program helps to reduce postage cost significantly. What do you like best about Tabs3 Software?

I love the Matter Manager because it has all the info I need quickly with toggles to get me where I need to be quickly. It's definitely my favorite feature. For a small to medium firm, I would highly recommend Tabs3 Software --I would rate it a 10. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tabs3 Software?

I don't like the Client Information section when we have clients with the same name. For instance, if my client is Jane Doe, but I have a totally different client with that same name, when I go to add the address or email address, it pulls up all instances of Jane Doe and automatically makes changes across the board. Deb, thank you for your comment. We’ve found Matter Manager to be a great tool for users – keeping everything about a matter displayed for easy reference and providing action tools centric to that matter – all from the same screen! We are glad that you are experiencing that too.

Regarding the “automatic” change to contact information you are experiencing, the trick is to ensure that unique contact records (i.e., unique Contact ID values) are being created for each same-named contact. This prevents any edits from “snowballing” across the other records that use that same-named contact. If you would like to discuss this further, our Support Team would be happy to assist you. What do you like best about Tabs3 Software?

I think the dashboard is particularly user-friendly. I'm not a particularly tech-savvy person, so anything really complicated was not gonna work. This is very straightforward for the purposes that I need to use it for. I found the setup to be quite straightforward, and I was able to do most of it myself. Not being a very tech-savvy person, that was pretty great. The team was also very helpful and walked me through everything I needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Tabs3 Software?

I like the font and honestly, the big bubbles in Tabs3 Software. I appreciate how there are various ways to get to the same result, which I think is super user-friendly. I love that I can see my hours by month, day, or client. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I think for new users, it could have a little customer service representative button that connects you to a live person because I just wanted to know a couple things instead of having a call. The AI prompts were too vague on the chat category. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
